Hey guys. Wondering if anyone knows or can tell what plane (if any) the new card Talons of Wildwood might be featuring in the art. The elf looks somewhat New Phyrexian to me, but I'm not sure if the trees in the picture can support this claim. If anyone could help with an answer or their own personal speculation it would be much appreciated.
EDIT: ...the card name is actually Talons of Wildwood, so no, the plane is not certain. I AM sure that Elf is neither a resister Viridian nor compleat though. Maybe you're reminded of Ezuri, Claw of Progress? They both have big spine/thorn bits, and braids, but... this Elf is not from the former Mirrodin because no metal.
So far we have 4 cards with Wildwood in the name. Looking at the translations of those card in my language I see there where made different choices in whether wood means forest or actual wood. There seem to be three kinds of wildwood. One is a type of forst and/or elemental creature, found so far only on Zendikat, see Stirring Wildwood. The Wildwood Geist again is a spirit found in the Kessig forest on Innistrad, it is implied that it is called this way because it's a wild being from the woods. Then there seems to be specific kind of tree, the wildwood tree, from whose wood stuff is made, that would be represented in Talons of Wildwood, and/or whose wood has magical properties, as seen on Wildwood Rebirth, placed on Ravnica. The last one, however, I'm not sure about. Wild might also describe the process of returning a dead person to life through woodcraft.
Good points from both Void and Antiantiserum. I suppose it's possible that the elf may be from the Golgari on Ravnica. At this point I'm leaning more towards the idea that it's just a generic ominous looking elf though.
