This might join the ranks of standard green counterpsell-hate with Prowling Serpopard.
Even if treasure hunting doesn't seem to be a green mechanics, it is very possible that you can cheat into play "early" by ramping with some treasures or by not missing any land drop with the "explore" mechanic.
The prowling serpopard isn't really comparable as it's so easy to be removed with a harnessed lightning or whatever removal. Other than sac effects or a fumigate, there isn't much that can kill the tyrant barring deathtouch.
Hexproof + big stats + Trample is pretty solid on its own. The "can't be countered" is some nice gravy, but not super relevant for standard. This thing is definitely going to give UR Control fits though, as it even survives an Hour of Devastation.

I was also wondering, how much P/T does a card need after 5cc to justify the mana cost? I have a feeling even a 13/13 vanilla for 6cc no one would play.
It's a big dumb green creature that wrecks face and is near impossible to deal with. Oh, this guy will see play.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I'm surprised no one likes this card much. It's a big bomb with proper support.
It's a good card, and will likely see at least sideboard play. Problem is that 6 mana creatures that don't produce immediate card advantage are still a little tough to play. Torrential Gearhulk is a better 6 drop for example, although it loses in a fight to this guy. Card advantage plush flash is just much stronger. Now green has really good support right now, so this might see a bit more play than gearhulk, not sure... but that's why everyone isn't going crazy about the card.

Krosan Cloudscraper gets chumped by Saprolings and dies to Doom Blade. This circumvents both. But I really would've liked that 1 extra point of toughness. Would make all the difference for Cube.

It's a problem, you can't even flash in a torrential gearhulk as a blocker. Only hope is if blocks something then you play a sweeper like hour of devastation or sweltering suns (if 3+ damage)
