In short...nope. B/R/U go nothing which will put a dent in the G/W domination of standard. Well done wizards. In fact, g/w becomes stronger. While I won't say I dislike this standard to the level of abzan dominated standard(which btw was also g/w based with black as the support color), it's far from pre theros rotation where mono red, mono black, jeskai, r/b dragons, that crazy blue artifact deck scissors deck were all viable. I'm sure I'm missing some but now it's your either playing humans or tokens or hoping to get lucky. Seriously wizards Innistrad should be the LAST plane where humans dominate. You have 4 very flavorful tribes in vampires, zombies, spirits and werewolves and the only tribe you made competitive is humans, mostly because it uses over half of it's humans outside of innistrad block.
Please note this is not a complain thread merely a "we've seen a week of spoilers and the meta will not change at all" thread. Your thoughts?
Though I'm not thrilled about Innistrad's metamorphoses from Gothic World (TM) to Angel World (TM) to Emrakul World (TM), I'd wait until the spoiler count reaches 205/205 before definitively declaring any formats stagnant.
It certainly does seem GW and Bant got some nice tools so far, I think some of the cards in black and red are being overlooked quite a bit. Some really powerful cards exist like the new Hymn and the Eldrazi Wish spell. I will bet emerge is going to be better than some are expecting. GW tokens and Bant Humans will be powerful, but their dominance is not certain with the cards I have seen so far. I think people thinking otherwise are incorrect like those who at first thought Jace Prodigy was bad. He was 10 bucks when spoiled. At his high he was 100. People judged him wrong and I think people are judging cards that don't fit in the current 2 best decks wrong.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
Now that we have less than a third of the set spoiled and several new mechanics whose potency heavily depends on the environment around them, we are definitely ready to make assessments regarding the set's impact on Standard.
I think hanweir garrison is a super sleeper pick. no one thought goblin rabblemaster was good either when it was spoiled and I got a playset for under $8. Brimaz, king of oreskos did the same thing and hanweir garrison just better, but was also mythic. the only problem I have with the card is he is a HUMAN. it adds nothing to help the other tribes, however he does combo very well with thalia's leutenant
Ok, I think some are missing the point of the thread. My point was not to say only g/w got tools. But that nothing so far seems to indicate any shake up in the current meta. Name one card that threatens g/w's dominance AND a good deck it could go in?
An example from recent standard was roast. Wizards saw siege rhino being insane(and tasigur to a lesser degree) and printed an answer card. We've see a good number of rares and mythics so far from all colors. The ones for r/b/u just don't seem to be good enough to cause worry to tokens or white/boros humans. Red has really bad burn, the best wizards could do was murder for black(seriously, 3 mana to kill one creature) and blue, well, I'm not a blue mage so i don't know what would fix blue. Mana leak maybe. Remand prolly wouldnt. Serum Visions maybe.
How could you not see value in Rabblemaster. It has insane value written all over it. Baby Jace is understandable. People(before my time tho i prolly would have missed it too) didnt realize you could potentially flip turn 3 with fetches and just buy back into oblivion.
Let's see: White get's Gisela and Bruna...black gets...nothing...red get's a good red creature that pairs with a land and green gets a creature that pumps tokens...yeah...totally fair distribution of power. Even a killer Lilliana wouldn't save black at this point if murder is the kill choice de jure. Would it have killed(pun intended) wizards to just re print doom blade at uncommon. Heck make it rare for limited.
So to sum up. Can someone put together how the cards so far spoiler have a good chance of changing standard meta? If so, awesome. Also note I'm not complaining. I love the Brisela combo and will craft a deck for it but right now, the meta is basically selesnya.

If it's true about wizards changing up the way they reveal spoilers - which many people have been complaining about, but I personally think is a good thing - then I wouldn't worry about the tribes not getting their spotlight just yet. People didn't like how immediately Oath and SOI were spoiled for the story. I think they will show the Innistrad people fighting back and surviving - along with the tribes - and winning. So I suppose next week we will get more of the Innistrad side including Liliana.
They've shown a bunch of madness/vampire cards. I can't get it to work in Modern but it seems good enough for Standard. The weakest link in that deck is the discard outlets - the good ones that enable madness without requiring you to pay extra mana during the madness turn can only be activated once per turn at best (Heir of Falkenrath, Ravenous Bloodseeker, Stromkirk Condemned).
It's an extremely synergy based deck, like metalcraft, hexproof, reanimator or heroic. Usually these kinds of decks will not be the decks to beat, but they're at least tier 2 in Standard.
712.5b The controller of another player can't make choices or decisions for that player that aren't called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can't make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.
Example: The player who's being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.
Mythics are a huge let down so far(for the most part).
Tamiyo seems like a cool midrange walker.(Also seems like a fun tool for those of us who play around with doubling season super friends in modern every now and again)
The sudo hymn seems more than good enough for modern which is my number 1 card spoiled thus far.
And then we have evolution, the card that just can do anything, delve, twin, angel "pod", melira, you name it.
Great card.
harmless offering also is a nice addition to modern :).(and standard for a short time)
I feel you man, my favorite color is black and I was hoping this set would give us the remaining pieces to make vampires playable. It could certainly still happen but as it stands they're giving the deck some difficult hoops to jump through, like needing double black on turn two in a two colored aggro deck, or fighting through a standard full of efficient green and white creatures. If we get more pieces on the level of stromkirk condemned and asylum visitor in black then mono colored may be viable, but it'd require them to print a strong one drop, like a 2/1 that flips into a 4/4 when you have no cards in hand. A 0 mana madness creature ala basking rootwala would also be amazing, but i doubt they have the balls to print something like that.

Wotc are perfectly happy with madness only being a draft mechanic. They think it's an unfair/degenerate mechanic or something.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 19 years later.

Wonder what their excuse is for make the other non human tribal non tournament level? Would it have killed them to print a proper vampire or werewolf lord?
I agree, Wizards never seem to give you enough tribal cards to build a proper deck anymore. They always leave holes in your deck anymore , no playable 1 drop, no lord or something. I want my tribes like the Lorwyn complete and fun.
I think we're going to be a fair bit closer to a playable UW control deck. Having a one-card answer to Eldrazi ramp is a big deal, as it's one of the things control traditionally finds hardest to deal with.
