Upon first learning of the Promised End her title and the fact she was Emrakul were the only things I liked about her but upon further thought and reading, my love for her is renewed. I completely understand the Promised End being underwhelming especially when I was hoping we'd get to see at least a little of that old Eldrazi might in the most powerful Titan, but I think she is an acceptable reiteration of the Aeons Torn, as others have said 13/13 trample, flying is hard to get over, even if you didn't didn't completely derail your opponents strategy,I personally wouldn't mind having to hard cast her considering that even if she's countered she is capable of being reanimated. In EDH especially I could see running her in a number of decks, for those complaining of her lost abilities why not use all that mana you could be saving and give her them back in addition to some new ones.

"I am the alienated, the ridiculed, the despised. No need to praise my name. No need to envy my body. I am the shadow under the radiance of heroic spirits. Birthed of the darkness of glorious legend. And so, I hate, I resent. Nourished by the sighs of the people precipitated within the darkness, people that curse the light. This is my disgrace. Because of her unsullied glory, I must forever be belittled. You are, the sacrifice. Good, give me more, your blood and flesh, your life. Let them ignite my hatred!!" -Berserker
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
So, I'm pretty strongly in the "this card is being undervalued" camp. I'm not going to go through all of the arguments for that (others have made the case rather strongly), other than to say the cost reduction can be real; the protection is good, even if incomplete; and you are strongly likely to win most games you cast her on. The real question will be whether or not the cost reduction mechanic is more valuable than just trying to ramp into Newlamog.
NOW, the real problem with the card is its comparison to the previous Emmy. Old Emmy is unquestionably the largest creature in the game and trying to cheat it out has shaped entire formats. It is a trump card like no other. New-Emmy isn't really those things. On an emotional level, it is a bit of a letdown to see the biggest get less big. Also, giving your opponent an extra turn sounds worse than it likely is in practice. Although I could see a reanimation deck trying to make use of her, most of the time you are going to be well-served by trying to get her cost low and cast her; meaning that the strategies where Old-Emmy was the best won't likely support New-Emmy. As a result, many of the people who were fans of Old-Emmy, either mechanically or flavor-wise, have lots of reasons to dislike this one.
Now if they don't really want to keyword annihilator again, FINE. Give me Bane of Bala Ged for 4-6 permanents, make it cost a million again and I'll be happy. Instead we get a watered down version, and that's just sad. You know you've screwed up the card when the old version fits the new name better than the new card =/
I think this quote really sums up the negative reaction. If you were a fan of the first version flavor-wise, you liked the unstoppable nature, regardless of the cost. If you ever played a deck with Old-Emmy, the cost was never really an issue anyway. New-Emmy is just plain more answer-able (even if she is pretty nasty) and lost quite a bit of power to make her more cast-able with typical strategies (specifically, it could happen in standard).

Sig by Dark Night Cavalier at Heroes of the Plane Studios!
It's very rare that Emrakul will cost 13 mana. By the time you CAN cast her, you're most likely looking at 10 mana at MOST. And that's just in standard.
Once the initial shock subsides and people play her, she'll appear better than most give her credit for.
And, for modern, people might want to realize the shenanigans you can have with Ugin's Nexus. Extra turn? I DON'T THINK SO!

Emrakul, the Card That Should Have Been20
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi
Emrakul costs 1 less to cast for each card in your graveyard or library.
Emrakul can't be countered.
When you cast Emrakul, you win the game.
Flying, trample, double strike, haste, infect, hexproof, indestructible
Emrakul has annihilator X, where X is the number of permanents your opponents control.
100/100
I dislike the card because I hate "control another player" turn effects, they don't work out well in paper magic. The last thing I want is the average magic player looking closely over my shoulder for example.
And now it's on a big stupid body on a flagship creature for the set that everyone is going to run and make my commander games less fun.
The fact it is an Eldrazi breaks it for me. That and the poor story telling. I am sick of the Elfrazi. they sold it as a mystery, but is anyone really surprised? You seen her coming a mile away. Boring.

And it was mystery. We had no idea what is was. Emrakul was always in the running, when we didn't see her on Zendikar. Also, the Eldrazi might be done after this. If Emrakul is killed, we have no more titans unless WotC decides to make a few more.
First of all the art on this card is in the upper echelon of all existing Magic art for me. The sense of scale on the image actually makes me feel tiny. Exactly what you want for Emrakul. Not to mention the great color choices and detail.
As for the card itself, well, I'm going to have a lot of fun with Journal Patrol Turbo and this thing.

This is a top notch card for graveyard reanimation and is better than most other fatty reanimation targets, especially if focused on one turn Haste reanimation. Goryo's Vengeance and Whip of Erebos

But to each there own.
It wasn't a mystery. They spelled it out.
I must not have been paying attention. When?
Well "they come in threes" pretty much spelled it out without a real doubt. But why did Jace show up for to start? The art showed tons of Emrakil style corruption. Who else would Nahiri summon with twisted lay lines? She basically said she would make Innistrad like Zendikar and there was no one else that could do that. IS short every card in SOI hinted of it almost to the point no one else could be it. That is not a mystery that is basically saying it was Emrakil. A mystery is where there is doubt, where the clues point in multiple possible possibility and you are left guessing till the reveal. Only people guessing was people who don't read the cards. It was almost literally printed on the clues.

At least this means in the storyline someone can effortlessly kill her in seconds and there will be no more eldrazi.
I dont like it from a perspective of what the eldrazi are supposed to be and Emrakul being the strongest of em all i'd think they'd make emrakul powerful. The point of a powerful creature is to overcome it I get were people coming from were they say its powerful in its own way i feel like they played Em all it takes is a good counter. I just feel like it should've been better though i get a meh feeling about it but the art is bad ass thou.

But even if you counter it, whomever casted it still gets mindslaver. I mean tactically, the things that can be done with that...
I mean out of all the titans' cast trigger abilities, it's probably the best, not counting the original Emrakul's timewalk.
Also, since it wasn't hard cast your opponent won't get a free turn against you.
Your opponent doesn't get a free turn against you.
YOU get their turn, and then they get their regular turn. This belief that Emrakul gives opponents a "free" turn is foolish.
They take the next turn before you get your next turn. It's giving them another card, and the damage you can do during that turn you control them is limited. At the very least, they get a card
STATISTICS.
All of these "Let's eliminate bad cards" crusades are simply ignorant. And when they start to devolve into "WotC is conspiring to give us crappy cards," they just become embarrassing. MATH is conspiring to give you crappy cards.

I'm really looking forward to putting this into a Reanimator deck with Ulamog and something fun like maybe Void Winnower or Worldbreaker. I hope we get a new Liliana. If I'm going to be playing a graveyard deck, it'd be a shame to do it without Lilly.

Ugh, for the love of GOD.
YES, they will get "a turn" before you.
After you DESTROY whatever is left of their hand and board state by making the absolute WORST magic related decisions possible, yes, YES, for the love of GOD YES they will get another turn to pick up the pieces of their shattered game state and play on in humiliation when they top deck a declaration in stone and exile her before you get an attack in with her.
Oh no, not THAT.....God forbid you'd want to win the game or anything.....

The point is, ignoring the CA for the opponent in playing this card, and acting like it's a free win when it is still subject to removal is foolish. 13 mana for a worse mindslaver effect is not a game winning effect.
