I would pick Roughrider, although typically I wouldn't first pick a 3-color card that's not a charm or a bomb rare/mythic. The difference here is that this pack is pretty bad. Alternatives are Arrow Storm and Abzan Guide. Storm doesn't feel like a strong first pick and Guide isn't as good as Roughrider.
None of these cards are particularly bombtastic. None of these cards are good removal. This is a multicolor format, so the next thing to care about is mana fixing. Scoured barrens is playable in more decks than tranquil cove, so my pick goes to scoured barrens.
EDIT: My next pick after the land is probably the big burn spell. 5 damage to a player is often enough to close a game and at least its a removal too.
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

Unyielding Krumar - Hill Giant with potential upside. No colour commitments. Not exciting, but works. I don't know how to evaluate the multicolor cards for P1P1 for the non-obvious bombs. Do you just pick the powerful cards and try to force the wedge or try to splash?
Invocation. There are a lot of guys with big butts in the format and several of them are likely to go late. You should be able to get a 5/5 out of this guy pretty early.
I'm going with ghostfire blade. It's a ferocious enabler, it's cheap and it doesn't commit you to any color. There doesn't seem to be any bomb in there anyways.
Ghostfire Blade seemed like the strongest, easily. Creatures appear to be fairly plentiful in this set, so I'm expecting the ground to get clogged up pretty easily and quickly. Ghostfire Blade's really efficient for a +2/+2 equipment, and since there aren't any really amazing cards here, it'll let me see another pack before settling into any color.
Second thoughts go to Arrow Storm, Unyielding Kumar, Abzan Guide, and Kin-Tree Invocation, in that order. I'm on the fence about the roughrider, still. It's a strong body, and with his ability, he can probably keep himself from trading easily, so I'm probably underestimating him, but he's also three colors. I do like Mardu, but not enough to commit to it first pick. The previous choices are a lot easier to stick into a deck.
Ghostfire blade with ease. Trusty machete was an all star in zendikar limited. If this equips to a colorless/morph creature it's far superior to that if not it's 1 more mana to equip for one more toughness, which isn't irrelevant in limited. It is also the way to stay by far the most open. Slam it and don't look back.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Probably unyielding krumar or the ghost fire blade. I think the Mardu guy who stops a creature blocking is the most powerful creature in the pack, but is also a trap because it locks you in colours too early.
Fixing can be good, but if this was first pack first pick I wouldn't touch it yet, we don't know our colours and therefore what fixing we need.

This is my idea too. I don't want to commit to a wedge unless there's an obvious bomb. 3/3 for 4 is fine.

How is taking one card committing you to a wedge? You don't have to play the card if it doesn't pan out. Do you guys even read signals, or just take the first card and every card that shares a color with it?

Whenever someone claims to hate blue I automatically assume they're a bad player.

This.
Suddenly all my morphs can become 4/4..yeah, I like where that is going.
Also, lets me read signals a little longer, while passing not too much or relavence!
Blade, by far, then Arrow Storm as a clear second.
Looks like a slower format, improving the value of equipment. On top of that you get synergy with morph and 4-matters, and it doesn't commit you to a color.
Arrow Storm comes in second because it is mono-color and just solid. 5 damage kills a lot of stuff and 5 to the dome is a strong finisher. I really like both the Roughrider and the Guide, but not enough to take them as first picks if I can help it. I would prefer to hold off making a 3-color commitment if possible.
Rite of the Serpent for me. Basically better than Arrow Storm (which I considered), albeit 1cmc more. But a guaranteed kill. This format will be slow.... Or is it just a slow pack.... lol

The pack is quite good, I'm not sure why some posters think it's weak
