I was thinking actually perhaps as Stormbreath #5. A lot of the time, you just need that hasty body to finish things and trying to topdeck one is the name of the game.
Cool card. I like how you can turn him into a dragon, then cast a second one and use his minus to kill a creature. Probably the most likely reason for the weak second ability.

I agree with Kamahl, there was never any chance that he was going to be anything other than mono red or maybe RG. They would not put a Jund walker in a wedge set.
4/4 haste indestructible is quite solid, will definitely see some play. Whether it beats out Stormbreath will probably depend on how relevant pro-white is in the new format. He is also harder for black to kill and can swing into big/deathtouch creatures. Importantly, he has haste, which lets him avoid the Gideon, Champion of Justice's problem of not being able to do anything when he comes in.
He does protect himself to a point with his -3 by killing an opponent's creature, but at the downside of putting him in range of pretty much anything. His ultimate is very easy to reach, and is very good in a proactive deck that is fine with playing it's cards as it draws them, though is not nearly as much of a "you win the game" as some other walkers.
the +1 is amazing. an indestructible stormbreath dragon for the same manacost, i buy it.
the -3 lets you remove something annoying, so is pretty good too.
and his ult. yeah, can be ridiculous, and can be not very good. but even without using his ult he is still a stormbreath dragon every turn. very good walker who will definitly see play.
Card looks very fun. After a glut of bad red planeswalkers, red finally has something that looks great. While the ultimate is situational, the first two abilities are both almost always useful. Great way to end the game for a controlling or ramp deck, and can act as removal if necessary.
He looks rad. When you can go aggressive he is a mean clock and if you need to stabilize the board a bit he can blast most creatures at that stage of game (except Polukranos or Master of the Waves). Should see play.

I am absolutely loving that +1 ability! Very innovative on a planeswalker! I've been a fan of planeswalkers that turn into creatures for a long time now and have experimented with some designs, and I'm glad that Wizards has finally stepped their game up with planeswalker designs!

I actually would say that this is better than Stormbreath.

Agreed. This can do the same thing as Stormbreath, just trading pro white for indestructible, which is arguable better. He also dodges sorcery speed creature removal, which is great. The only thing I can think of that removes Sarkhan and not Stormbreath after rotation is Banishing Light. But I think that would be worth it, considering you also can use him to remove any 4 toughness creature.

"We wield the fires of rage. War is our blood and destruction our birthright." - Crimson creed
Yeah I was being cautious before but I'd throw my hat in saying its a significant step up from stormbreath overall, which puts it firmly at auto-playable territory and potentially a format blockbuster. Its more to the tune that stormbreath will be sarkhan #5-8 than the other way around
Stormbreaths 3, 4, and 5 in red devotion. Stormbreath doesn't have the drawback of the planeswalker rule, and Banishing Light is going to be very big post-rotation. Stormbreath also can't be killed as easily as Sarkhan, since Sarkhan doesn't defend itself except with the -3.
What's important is that it compares favourably with Stormbreath Dragon, itself a known powerful card. I think it is safe to say Sarkhan will see play. Whether or not he is better than the Dragon seems a bit arbitrary. They each have favourable qualities the other does not.
Drawing 3 cards in red sounds powerful especially if you're digging for burn to finish off your opponent.
It could fit into Jund Walkers.
I guess that 4 damage could be used in a pinch but it seems a bit too much to pay unless you were able to keep him alive.

I don't think he fits into some sort of midrange dragon beatdown deck. You would just play 4x Stormbreath Dragon and leave it at that.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

Might be worth it.
