yeeeaaa... The red dragon wipes your opponents board and swings through all the other flyers if you don't have the mana to finish it off. It's the bombiest of bombs in this format and will be in my 40
The Blue mage in my will be most upset but I'd have to say White.
Blue has an obviously powerful Promo and a few really powerful cards and interactions but White just has such an deep pool as far as power and versatility goes.

Brilliant ideas are stupid ideas that worked - Patrick Chapin
For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.
Probably White, going for W/B. The White rare is probably the strongest of them, because it's a big flier, and it recurs enchantments. There are enough enchantment creatures in the set that a lot o the time it's going to act as a Sun Titan with flying.
However, I'm not actually sure if I'll be able to play a Prerelease at all. I'm going to Taiwan for Chinese New Year, and the prerelease days are the first two days of Chinese New Years. Here in Beijing, a lot of stores and restaurants have already closed down in preparation for the New Years vacation, so I'm not sure if card stores will still be open. Chinese New Year is a time for visiting family, so there's a good chance that the store managers will just close shop. However, if there is a store open, then I really want to play.
I most likely shall choose white, since that is my favorite color, and I do find the white prerelease promo card, silent sentinel, is quite a powerful card. However, in the rare event that I cannot choose white, the red and black promo cards, forgestoker dragon and eater of hope, are also very appealing, as well.

I'm going red, because the last two times I played at a pre-release and went green, I got the promo card in a regular pack (Fathom Sage and Anthoussa). Here's hoping I change up my luck.
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
white or green, since white and green still seem like the best value between theros and bng limited. Will happily play any combination of the bant colors.
Probably White, going for W/B. The White rare is probably the strongest of them, because it's a big flier, and it recurs enchantments. There are enough enchantment creatures in the set that a lot o the time it's going to act as a Sun Titan with flying.
Personally, I think the white on is in the bottom two. A 4/6 flier for 7 is just awful, and the recurssion ability requires an enchantment in the yard and for you to attack. In a format with Nessian Asp, that's just bad news. It's practically unplayable, really, at that cost.
I much prefer the Red one. It wins the game on it's own if you are able to untap. No shenanigans, straight up win. There is a world of difference between 6 and 7 mana in limited, and the Dragon is brutal. Your alpha strike should be lethal if you untap with it once.
The blue one is also pretty damn good, particularly if you go U/G and ramp into it. The incremental benefit of it is just stellar. Free things is always nice. The black one is OK, as it allows you to trade up your creatures. Still wrecks your board position and probably comes down a bit too late to matter. And the green one is green. It's not bad at all, and will probably be good in limited.
That said, white as a color in BNG is exceptionally strong. White in THS is also good. So I may go white just to get some of the good white things. I may also go Red, or Blue (I don't particularly like black as a main color; it's great as a secondary though). Red/White should be amazing. Blue/Green also as much. R/B is strong as well. G/anything can be phenomenal.
Now that I know I can get a god, I may just go Blue, though, because I desperately want Phenax. It would be awesome to have him in my pool. End the game in two turns.
I think the blue promo is deceptively worse than it looks, you have to attack with it, have it survive, then next turn it will probably generate card advantage, but there is a chance of a miss there. But it is only 6 mana and the 5 toughness is really good.
The white promo is very likely to give you card advantage, as there will be stuff in your yard by turn 7+ but the 1 more mana cost is a big deal.
The red looks the best to me, but it is very killable at 4 toughness, right in range of several common Theros kill spells. I also want Mogis and Xenagos more than the other gods.
Black has the best art and green is really buff I might be undecided until game time, but I'm leaning red I think for now.
I don't do prereleases, but red is clearly the strongest, followed by white. The other colours are fairly decent as well, so I guess that's a sign that Born of the Gods is rather well designed with regard to power across the colours.
This is a really hard choice. For these seeded prereleases, I thin there are three things to factor in: the quality of the promo, the quality of he potential pack rares, and the quality of the potential uncommons. There are a couple of other factors, such as how well each color plays into Theros, but considering how well each of the colors were balanced in Theros, I don't think that will be a factorin this case. And remember, this only affects ONE pack, so while it can improve your sealed pool, you won't be forced into the color you pick.
Alright, so here are my rankings on the factors I think matter most. Quality of Promos
1. Red-Potential removal and guaranteed evasion is awesome
2. Blue- Good card advantage and getting something for nothing isn't bad
3. White- Good card advantage, but will only work in a deck with a lot of enchantments. Still good though.
4. Black- Expensive abilities on a slightly smaller body. Still a house if you can make tokens.
5. Green- Tribute makes this not very good, but still a playable creature. On par with Theros's promo for green.
Potential Rares
1. Green- Mixture of great limited and constructed rares. Potential Xenagos for a mythic is sweet.
2. Black- Some bomby cards like Fated Return, some strong cards like Herald of Torment, and Pain Seer for constructed.
3. White- All of the rares are playable in limited. Spirit is nice for money value.
4. Blue- Not bad, just not great. Tromokratis is probably the best for limited.
5. Red- These all leave too much up to chance for my liking. But there is potential.
Potential Uncommons and Commons
1. Black- Just great removal in black this set.
2. White- Solid creatures and reasonable removal.
3. Blue- Solid enablers.
4. Green- Strong creatures with decent enablers
5. Red- Decent creatures with some removal.
With everything factored together, I'll probably go Black. I might go Green, because I play well with green, but I think black will be th best choice for winning.
I don't think there is a clear winner here in what is better. In viewpoint of the promos alone: Blue, Black and Red seem most viable.
The blue promo is really solid, and will definitely be the hardest to spot remove or deal with. Also its inspired ability will help you start to rebound from the huge mana drop and means open mana the next turn for a huge blue creatures (which Theros and BotG have plenty of within the common/uncommon range.)
The black is great for evasion, and itself can spot remove and regenerate itself, however at the expense of more creatures. It also is more susceptible to spot removal (ie; Lash of the Whip plus the usual Hero's Downfall and similar cards) but so is the red promo. Black will have trouble finding good cards to play with, especially when looking at it from a mana curve standpoint.
The red promo is great because it can lock down creatures your opponent(s) control that could block and kill it, allowing you to do a lot of potentially unblocked damage. Also there are plenty of Theros cards that will play well with it, in terms of combat tricks that will protect it from removal and beefy creatures. And red common creatures play well with this dragon.
Green is not too much of a threat in sealed, especially since there will most likely be a few chump blockers on your opponents side. The white promo is simply too expensive for sealed and might not always be bringing good enchantments back. I'd rather play Celestial Archon for its bestow cost. But who says you'll get one. Honestly I'm going to play black, because I enjoy the color, and think I can do well with it.
I'm most likely going with Blue. It just seems like the best support color and the promo is decent enough. White would be my second choice just because it has some great early plays and lots of removal.
Now that I'm reading confirmations that you can have either shared color god as the mythic in your seeded color pack, it solidifies my selection for red. Promo dragon + Xenagos = winning

I will say that although it's possible, I wouldn't say it's likely. You could get any number of junk red rares in there as well.
I will say that although it's possible, I wouldn't say it's likely. You could get any number of junk red rares in there as well.
Of course this is true, but just the fact that it is possible is getting me excited. To me I feel like any of the colors have a chance at this event. Blue was the clear cut winner last time and that is kind of lame IMO.
I know the chances are sooo slim to get away with one color. With that in mind, I had to consider synergy with white and some other color. I really like the POTENTIAL options with white-blue, white-black, or (stretch) white-blue-black.
I see great backup options with a white lead-in. Either blue or black has great realistic potential. Not sure the "synergy" random sealed chemistry is as strong with any one other "lead" color (for two other supporting colors).
Of course, you could "go for broke" with one color and trust/hope your second color works out on the sealed. So, high risk/reward or lower risk and strong reward?
Might be more likely now that they have revealed that gods might be in seeded packs
Not only did wizards confirm the gods could be in the seed packs, they are the only mythics which can be in the seed packs. If we assume that the odds of getting a mythic in the seed pac are equal to the odds of getting a mythic in a normal pack, than about 5 percent of red prerelease players will get a xenagod to pair with their promo dragon in their seed pack alone.
Note that it is possible to get a multicolor God for your chosen color in your seeded booster pack but no other mythic rares.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
