Obviously, the entire set isn't spoiled yet, but judging from what cards have been spoiled so far, and the prerelease promos, what color would you pick?
The prerelease packs include:
3 THS packs
2 BNG packs
1 Seeded pack (assuming this is like theros w/ promo and on color rare)
Now that the whole set is spoiled, It is now the proper time to talk about he prerelease color selection. I'm definitely leaning blue, as both the promo and commons and uncommons are good. Arbitor of the Idea also cannot be killed by rage of Purphoros and lash of the whip like Eater of Hope and Forgestocker Dragon, meaning inspired would be eaiser to pull off multiple times.
does anyone know if the seeded pack is like the Theros seeded like you can only get a rare or the god and which god would it be? Like if I choose blue would i get Ephara or Phenax or either?
As i said in another similar topic on this forum, i think that blue is the best bng limited color, so i will be picking blue even though i reeeeeaaaaaallllyyy wanna go white

In blue you have more limited value in the rare slot of BNG boosters. BTW you also have 3 THS boosters here, in wich blue has the worst rare slot and green the best one.
True i did not consider the Theros packs... I may go white now, however, i still se blue having good cards in theros (Precient Chimera, Ordeal of Thassa, ect.)
I'd say White, Red, and Black are the best choices, but you have to factor in the promo card as well. It's a tough choice. White pretty much has all of its bases covered, with small aggressive creatures and plenty of bestow shenanigans. Green has a lot of Lifegain surprisingly, along with a bunch of fatties and it's usually aggressors. Red is fast. Red was good in Theros, and I expect it to be good again for this prerelease. I could say the same for black.
For Theros Prerelease, I picked blue, mainly because I wanted that Kraken with the artwork from Velinov. Honestly I didn't think Shipbreaker Kraken would be that wild. Turns out, he was a champ. I made a blue/green deck and went 4-2 with it. I had a lot of benthic giants and vulpine goliaths to crush my opponents pretty hard. Voyaging Satyr helped me ramp. I had gotten Thassa too, who proved to be amazing just because of the Scry and unblock able. I also had the choice to go minotaurs; I swear I got like 11 of them including The Lord in my packs.
Anyhow, it really all depends on what you get in the packs, but honestly, I am choosing blue and am probably going to try to play blue/green again. Kiora's Follower is really good. Blue has a lot of tricks that seem underestimated at this time, while green has more beefy creatures to add to the mix. If I can build another UG deck similar to my last, I'd be pretty satisfied.
I'm stuck between white and blue. The white promo might not seem that good, but recursion with an upside is always good in limited. The Blue promo just has an awesome effect that I'd love to try and take advantage of. Either way, I'm hoping to be either GW, WU, or UG
If I get to do more than one tournament flight, here is the order I will pick.
1.) Blue
2.) Red
3.) Tie - Green
Black
5.) White
Doesn't matter what colors are the "best." I roll with what I like.

It's a crap shoot but we like to try to have one of us play control while the other plays aggro
It comes down to the commons and uncommons for me. Green just feels like it has more bombs and it still has a good number of answers in this set. There are several creatures that work as an answer and their seated pack comes with a solid wincon that also serves as an answer.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
black offer up some nice interesting removals such as Bile Blight, Drown in Sorrow, and the limited pick Eye Gouge and the rare chance of Gild. The problem is that that I feel black lack some solid midrange creature in draft.
green offer up a nice choice of creatures and removal in the form of Unravel the Aether, but most of the good choices are uncommon and up....
I will probably choose white at the pre release as of right now but im on the fence. There honestly are a lot of good reasons to choose whichever color you pick. It all comes down to how the packs are when i open them which route im going. I went U/W at the last pre release and did great, but i also had some great cards to support it
The way I see it, you shouldn't really look at the rares or mythics in any color. And quite frankly, you may not even get a good enough pull at all since the seeded booster doesn't only have your chosen color. The only guarantee you have is the promo card.
I feel like the red promo had the coolest alternate art of the bunch, and I am more likely to use it after the prerelease. It will be going straight into my Kaalia deck. Not to mention that it is an absolute terror in limited. People often underestimate doing 1 extra point of damage to finish something off.
Second choice is blue because I like the effect of the sphinx, but the art is worse on the promo than the original, imo.

Technically im not going to a pre release because only two of the packs are BNG which means i can save about 15 bucks and pick up all the cards that I wanted from my LSG the following week....
but if i were going, i think i would have to take (in order) Black, Green, White, Blue, Red....
For once, I am at a loss for what color to pick. In terms of commons/uncommons, blue and white have the most powerful cards, but also the most amount of unplayables. The other three don't have the best cards, but are more consistent in their power level.
I'm leaning towards red, at the moment. But I might call an audible the day-of and go green, just due to the pretty ridiculous creatures the color has.
White seems the most consistent of all the colors at this point, with a promo that can outright blow apart a game in the right pool. I'll also probably try a red pool and maybe blue.
The prerelease packs include:
3 THS packs
2 BNG packs
1 Seeded pack (assuming this is like theros w/ promo and on color rare)
