Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
- Manite
I think he's working off the idea that there'll only be two new generals per deck, with a preexisting legendary tossed in as the third general.
Do we know if that's true?

I'm really liking Nekusar, and I think the only other one that appeals to me greatly is Shattergang Brothers. Granted, it will probably be better to wait, and see if there is any two colour legendaries hiding in the last twenty cards, before I declare my allegiance to any deck.

It's close between Marath and Shattergang, but I think I'll try my hand at both. Both give me the inspiration to brew color combinations I otherwise find uninspiring, so for that, they get my vote.
Must say I love Roon of the Hidden Realm. Seems like an awesome build around commander, in fact I might even add white to my Prime Speaker Zegana deck and convert it to be built around Roon.
I'm just bummed that we didn't get a werewolf general or new arts for Darigaaz or Dromar.

I have tried my hand at Bant before with Rafiq and it was fine. But, I am not a fan anymore of decks that need to win through commander dmg. That is why I am most excited about Roon. I love to flicker things and the color combination. And he is just the right size in the p/t area to be a potential threat. Plus hes comes with vigilance and trample, yea, sign me up.
My favorite (as stated elsewhere) are the Shattergang Brothers.
I'm kinda shocked to see Gahiji, Honored One with zero votes. I would've thought he would have appealed to a lot of people, what with the counter shenanigans he seems capable of.
Well, the results are in: Blue-Black is officially people's FAVORITE (if not necessarily the most powerful) Color Pair in EDH. Makes perfect sense, it's the Color Identity of Megalomania
1. Nekusar is first in rankings
2. Oloro is second
3. Jeleva is fifth
4. Sydri is seventh
out of 10, that's a pretty oppressive distribution to have 3 U-B in the Top 5 out of 4 possible.
Roon and Derevi are right next to each other at 3rd and 4th though, showing how popular both the Blue-White Pair and the Bant Shard are.
Prossh is trailing at 6th and loses a lot of points because even though he's a Dragon, he's still a bit too Green, and people prefer for their Legendary Dragons to be Red and/or Black first and foremost, with Green being possible and a good color and all, but the main reason you play a Dragon is not to play Green cards.
Red-Black and Black-Blue ended up fighting and splitting the vote of why Grixis is the most popular Shard. If the Invasion Dragons had been included in the decks or the poll, Crosis would have drawn most of the people voting for Prossh over to him because he's a Dragon *and* Grixis.
Nicol Bolas is to EDH as Jace, the Mind Sculptor is to Competitive. I'm not saying either of them are the STRICTLY BEST ever, but they are Strictly Most Popular, precisely because they're the two biggest jerks.
And Grixis being so popular is why Bant is so popular: Anytime the Villain is Awesome, Awesome Heroes will arise to fight it.
Oh yeah-- and the Naya Monsters lost Hardcore in this vote because Mayael makes no sense in their deck, and their deck makes no sense. This doesn't mean the cards themselves are bad, and I feel bad for them xP
And the Top SEV-en cards are "All The Blue, and a Dragon "
Red is by far the least favorite color, with not a single Jund or Naya Top 5 place holder, which is about as badly as Jund and Naya could perform between them.
I think those are almost all the conclusions we can draw, except that Green-White got screwed over in representation because Naya came in absolute dead last but Bant almost won the whole thing.
I am probably every color-combination it is possible to be, though it's really hard to figure out what it would mean to be 4-colored....it doesn't seem logical to be 4-colored without being 5-colored.

Out of curiosity while I have this random question in my head-- has anyone won with Kaalia of the Vast by Commander Damage, without building specifically to try to do it? Like you built a normal Kaalia Deck (something designed to try to win with the Sick Creatures, or at least through massively oppressive combos), and maybe your table had just the right decks and players piloting them, that the right answers were played at the right time, and you drew the best things for you to preserve a comeback, and like weird politics plus whatever the other decks were trying to do, caused the game to get a bit funky, and like....you just sort of walked into it happening, through one or more pump spells or beneficial effects/ways to get +1/+1 counters and protection....and the opportunity just presented itself?
Like, has anyone had that freakishly happen by accident?
Because I'm pretty sure NOBODY can actually do this ON PURPOSE, you would get blasted for trying

I am tied between Prosh and Shattergang Brothers.
Well, we know now! Each deck gets five mythics, three of which are reprints and one of which is a shard coloured commander.
WUB gets Sharuum the hegemon
GWR gets Mayael the anima
RBG gets Sek'kuar, Deathkeeper
BRU gets Thraximundar
GWU gets Rubinia Soulsinger (With new art)
That be really funny. I was just contemplating my Shattergang deck and thought that Sek'kuar would have a good fit in there.
Also: Crap! Grixis got True-Name Nemesis (Merfolk Rogue w/ Pro-Player). Damn WotC, all but Grixis would have suited me fine.

Derevi and Sydri come in next. I'll be definitely getting the Esper and Bant precons.
