I think Pulse_of_Shift is right on here. Every color gets a barely playable Pillarfield Ox, and that'll slow the format? Boros still picks up some nasty commons here: Haazda Snare Squad is a decent Decoy for aggro decks since it still gets to attack, its keyword commons are nice, and it gets great use out of its Gatekeepers (assuming it has enough gates and even wants them) since both can help make it easier to trigger Battalion. From its guild pack, every rare is at least playable and several (Firemane Avenger, Aurelia, Assemble the Legion, Frontline Medic, Angelic Skirmisher) are flat-out backbreaking bombs.
I've been screwing around on svenskamagic for a few days now. When I practice with any other guild, I am left in a situation about 50% of the time where I literally have no clue what I'm going to play, what my deck's plan is, or how I'm going to get a playable deck without running 18 land or 3 cluestones. I frequently have a deck that has no plays of any sort before turn three, and I just don't think the format is slow enough to get away with passing for two straight turns. That has yet to happen with Boros: whether I get a super-aggressive build or a more controlling pile that wants to stall so it can populate, play bombs, or fly for the win, I'm typically struggling to cut down to 23 cards. Simulator ≠ real packs, obviously, but I think Boros is hands down the best guild option.
who is saying the format is slower because of some random 2/4s?
the format is slower because #1 its SEALED DECK and #2 it seems like wizards is really wanting everybody to play 3 color decks with some guildgates and the mana ramp artifacts.
a boros deck coming from 4 DGM packs 1 Boros pack and 1 say(azorious) pack isnt going to be anywhere near as fast as a boros deck with 5 GTC and 1 boros pack. if you go boros, it should be for the busted rares you can open in the guild pack, not for the speed you probably wont have unless you just open a really strong pool
I chose Dimir, NO ONE signed up for Dimir, so showing some love for the unloved guild. Hoping to get Golgari as an off chance, blue/green/black would make some nice cards in my opinion. We'll see! It's getting closer!

Dimir is a tad underrated at this point I have done extremely well with Orzhov splashing Dimir in 3x Guildpact. I also pulled a Gruul+Boros pre-release packs for Guildpact and we ended up building a Dimir deck and a Boros Deck just because we had multiple Dimir bombs. That tournament allowed us to go 4-0 with ease.
Dimir is very good if you have the right Dimir deck and build it correctly. I mean I think its harder to draft the "nuts" Boros deck becuase the deck wants a ridiculous multitude of 2 drops that usually dry up after 3-4 picks.
Rakdos for it's insane two drops + removal, and Gruul for it's grand finale creatures. Not to mention that with this combo I'll be able to play Putrefy!
Looking at the spoiler more, I think the real split is going to be "White" guilds (Boros, Selesnya, Orzhov, Azorius) > Guilds that have a 50% chance of a white trio deck (Rakdos and Simic) > the rest (Golgari, Gruul, Dimir, Izzet), in roughly that order of goodness. White DGM is the best color to be in despite having no removal since it has so many solid mono-colored cards compared to the other combinations, and all four white guilds have excellent commons and uncommons and a few bombs.
I think it's close between Boros and Selesnya. Boros has a better and more bomby guildpack and I think most prereleases will be won by the guy that gets "the nuts" RWU or WRB deck with 7+ strong one or two-drops, a few evasive or hasty three and four drops, and some removal/stale-mate breakers/tempo stealers to back them up. But there's a risk you won't get a deck that comes together like, especially since Red is the weakest mono-color in DGM, and Selesnya has, pound for pound, the strongest guild-aligned cards in DGM even though you can "whiff" with your guild pack or get a ton of Populate cards and no tokens to populate.
I think it's close to balanced, however. The only trio that seems really bad is RUG: I'm unsure what RUG deck try to do, making them reliant on bombs or getting a consistent pile of cads that can, say, play like an Izzet control deck with a few green defenders or play like a Gruul or Simic midrange deck with a few burn and combat trick spells. As a result, I think Izzet is the worst guild since you have a 50% chance of ending up in RUG.
With all that being said, if I play I'll likely roll Simic and pray I don't get Izzet as my ally :). Beetleform Mage for the win!

I really don't foresee the aggro decks doing too well, although I agree that the slowness of the format is probably overstated. A three color aggro deck in sealed just probably isn't going to work with the amount of slow guildgates and slower cluestones that are needed to fix the mana. The worst deck is likely going to be RUG, since Simic and Izzet are terrrrrible together (simic wants almost all creatures for evolve, Izzet wants spells and has tiny creatures that can't evolve others).
I'm going with Golgari, because it has a 50/50 shot of going BUG, which is where I want to be. Dimir self-milling to get scavengers in the graveyard to put +1/+1 counters on creatures and having Simic, which loves +1/+1 counters seems like a good place to be. Also, Golgari has the best fixing-- it was always the guild in RTR that could splash into 3-5 color decks. If I pull a bomb, I'm splashing for it no matter what because I think a lot of games will become stalemates in which the best bomb wins.
I am picking selesnya, mainly because it makes sure i wont get izzet or dimir as my ally. I'm hoping to get allied with either gruul or boros. Spamming tokens with selesnya works very well both with a lot of bloodrush tricks and a bunch of battalion creatures, and all 3 guildpacts have a pretty decent and playable selection of rares. I also think gatecreeper vine will be a very nice thing to have in green in this slightly slower format, for use as a speedbump and manafixing via gates.
I'm picking Selesnya for the same reasons. But, also because if you get Gruul or Simic there's a good chance of getting cards that work well with selesnya. Like Miming slime. Extort would probably work out well, too.

I picked Gruul for my sealed prerelease tourney this weekend and will be happy to get paired with Selesnya, Golgari or Rakdos for that matter. It's going to all depend on what cards are pulled, I may end up not even playing the colors of my chosen guild.
I'll be representing the Azorius Senate again at the Dragon's Maze pre-release. I personally like slower decks in Sealed, and I've been debating between Azorius and Orzhov which I've been playing a lot in limited events (along with favoring Simic for drafts with great success). But I really like Ascended Lawmage and Jelenn Sphinx, and it still is still mostly Dragon's Maze.
Good luck to all the guilds and players and those running the race... in the maze...
Assuming the packs are the same as RTR, you can find an Axebane Guardian in one of the Selesnya packs and one of the Golgari packs, whereas Gatecreeper Vine shows up in two Selesnya packs and one Golgari pack.
Honestly though I woud just wait to see what you open and then go from there?
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
Well.. i originally wanted to go Boros. and i still do, however our card shop owner decided on a whim to let FNM ppl preregister tonight (our card shop is 40 minutes away, and normally its always first come first serve sign up) and we won't be able to go, so at this rate i feel i'll get stuck with dimir or izzet.. but deep down a little piece of me is feeling a sigh of relief the preasure of picking a guild was giving me a tummy ache, at least if i do poorly now, it won't be MY FAULT lol...
You will be cracking open 4 boosters of packs which will have cards from all 10 guilds. Do you really think it's common in that reality to build fast 2 color splash 3rd decks with nice curve? Some people will crack right tools but it will be uncommon.
I don't think it'll be common, but I think of the ~10 players at each prerelease flight who end up in UWR, WRB, Naya, or Jund between their starting and secret ally packs, 2-3 of them will get "the nuts" deck with an army of 1-2 drops and will likely win the prerelease or at least place Top 3 in their flight.

There are only 13 2 drops in DGM, and no 1 drops. So I don't think it is THAT likely (an army of 2-3 drops, maybe!)

orzhov looks like it has the most potential simply because you get to dodge the 2 worst guilds dimir and izzet
