so for a while now ive been wanting to build a legacy deck with aluren and creatures that draw when they etb the only thing missing was a creature that gave everyone haste and cost 3 or less and now there's hellraiser goblin i dont feel like posting a list right now but thats basically the idea, was this deck always a bad idea? probably but now i have the missing piece of that bad idea
Seems interesting. It also is interesting with Burning Tree Shaman. There's probably a way to get infinite mana out of Aluren and shaman, though I don't know what the third piece is off of the top of my head.

If Parasitic Strix dies with Cavern Harpy on the stack, you can have Harpy bounce the Dream Stalker/etc. when it resolves, the Dream Stalker/etc. bounce a Recruiter, search for an Eternal Witness, get out the Strix, and repeat. If you're afraid of Swords to Plowshares, you can pay 1 more life with the Harpy to search for Spellskite first.
Unfortunately, the Aluren combo deck doesn't have a good aggro plan, and the combo actually takes up 13 slots (4 Aluren/4 Recruiter/2 Dream Stalkers/1 Harpy/1 Strix/1 Witness).

Ah thank you for the explanation.
I heard some pro's, of which 1 was lsv, talk about the aluren deck rather mockingly. They said it never was that consistent, and I wondered why.
I understand now though that it basically comes down to you being required to playing creatures that are very underwhelming on their own.

The Internet was a revelation to me, I never imagined there are so many idiots on this planet.
this would be a more strait forward and less costly but admittedly less consistant
Maybe not. If you play a bunch of creatures that are otherwise good aggro creatures on their own, it could be viable. The problem is getting Aluren into play, not abusing it.

Yeah--it's more of a combo deck than an aggro deck, though, with the "2-piece" combo being Aluren and Imperial Recruiter.

So its one of a handful of decks in Legacy with a ridiculous cost and likely to post even worse results then cheaper decks.
