I took the gamble and went with Hellraiser Goblin. Yeah Alms Beast and Pit Fight are top picks, but they hedge you into those colors. I figure going with the goblin I can splash it if I truly want to use it since turning sideways wins.

Pit Fight doesn't really restrict you at all. In fact, Pit Fight is the least restrictive card out of all of them. Hybrid cards can be played by three guilds.
sweep, then play alms beast
=D
a 6/6 for 4 with drawback is good in terms of power. if you don't like it or you need life, just give it to your opponent =)
or donate trancedence =D
I had to go with alms beast, although Syndic of Tithes was a close second. I think extort is going to be very strong in limited, but a 6/6 for 4 is too bomby to pass up. yes they will gainsome life as they chump it, but eventually they will be out of blockers and the beast will still keep knocking on the door.
Alms Beast as the centerpiece of a grindy, durdley Orzhov deck. From the spoilers I've seen so far, Orzhov looks to have fantastic stall capacity - Alms Beast is one of the few cards I've seen that looks capable of breaking a stall by just going completely over the top of it. As a defensive creature, it'll also throw a wrench into so many aggro strategies. This is a card worth committing for.
Given that we don't know how fast this format is, I'd say the insane 4-drop is probably fine, if not correct.
My second pick would have been Syndic of Tithes or the 3/1 flier. Syndic keeps you a bit more open, though you'd probably end up in Boros due to passing Alms Beast.
a 6/6 on turn 4 is pretty sweet. Even if it gives everything that touches it lifelink, you will be more than likely be killing off that creature. It'll usually end it grinding them out, just as Orzhov wants to do.
