An evolve with more power than toughness is surpising.
I guess as a trick he's not a good as Winger Coalt though. I don't think he's as good as he looks. He'll have a hard time evolving considering the other Simic cards we've seen so far so he might just be a flashable crosstown courier.

Some kind of witty comment should be here.
I'm sure you can think of something by yourself.

Both of the three drop commons we've seen so far evolve him. A 1/3 and 3/1.

Evolve triggers based on power OR thoughness, so his low thoughness will grant him some extra evolve triggerss.
I liked it, i hope for more decent evolve creatures to enable a UGx zoo.
The art on this card is the coolest thing I have seen so far. Its only missing a "lazer" on its head. Flash is cool but not great with evolve cause doesn't another dude need to come into play to "evolve" this guy? Its still a cool 2 mana with evovle, thus I don't have a complaint, just an observation.
Flash means that I can drop one of the evolve 1-drops t1, this guy on opponent's end step, to revolve first guy, then play a 3-drop to evolve them both.
Low toughness makes him easy to evolve a few times, and decent power for his cost means that if he evolves even twice he is a very solid beater. Flash allows him to work as a trick by evolving your other guys, especially since most of them have a lower power than toughness.
The real test for offensive evolve creatures will be how efficient they are if only evolved once and how difficult they are to evolve. Examples are Cloudfin Raptor, Expirement 1, and now this, all of which are pretty solid

Flash is nice to send it out end of turn, and pump him with your 3 drop. Not exactly as good as haste but making it harder for the toughness to get zapped by sorceries and such.
He's one of my favorite cards spoiled so far. For all the reasons Bolas has already stated. In draft, I will get as many of these as I can.
I think it may also have some decent standard applications too. Shark+ strangleroot Giest and maybe even Ambush Viper and Quirion Dryad, along with some counter spells would make for a cool UG tempo deck.

Now this is a chase common. Will be picked pretty highly. So versatile. Can act as an instant speed blocker, or an evolve combat trick. This is the type of card I'd like to call "deceptively good."
Simic is shaping up to have some pretty powerful common creatures. This and the 3/1 flyer are both pretty great at common.
Constructed fringe playable, sick in limited, fun to play with, flavor home run for me and the art is just beautiful. So ridiculously over the top in a totally simic way, I feel like this art deserves a mythic rare of some sort. Probably my favorite art ever, and one of my favorite cards of all time.
The flash makes the flavor of it hilarious to me. You're just hanging out, when suddenly a CRABSHARK falls from the sky and eats you!
But I don't like the card. For a surprise blocker it's a waste of the evolve mechanic.
I think you kind of missed the point of the card though. Think of it as a modal spell: burn target attacking creature for 2, OR get a 2/1 at EOT who dodges their sorceries for a turn, then probably gets in for 3 before they can really do anything. Saying the Evolve is wasted because sometimes he's a surprise blocker is like saying the Exile on Selesnya Charm is wasted because sometimes you use it to pump your guy or kill Geist of Saint Traft.
Also don't forget that flash means an opponent won't keep a blocker back for him, and that he's basically a flash Gore-house Chainwalker with flash without the downside who grows. That's pretty solid.

Not much to say. Good card is good. Cost is good, Flash is a beast, and Evolve is likely going to be the nuts. Combat tricks abound, and he'll be pretty big in no time. Can't complain.
Someone in design was having an insanely fun time coming up with the Simic creature types. I wonder what the instructions to the artists must have looked like.
This may be the final straw that makes me build a Simic deck, just so I can announce creatures by their types.
Cool. So if I were to cast this followed by an Elusive Krasis, Drakewing Krasis, or a Crocanura, I can potentially make it bigger and stronger and its a flasher which is still even more awesome for a 2/1 2 drop.
This card is rather good. Being able to choose to trade with an opposing 2 drop is nice, being able to trigger evolve at instant speed is nice, and being able to drop a guy that will swing for 3 on turn 3 is nice. I would say confined to limited for the moment, but flash is such a generally good mechanic on something that can passively grow that honestly I could see this fitting in quite nicely in some king of U/G/x agro-control. Supreme verdict will always be a bogeyman for this kind of deck, but I have a feeling that simic charm may just have a mode that can interact with wipes. That, or we're stuck fishing for Golgari charm in U/G/b : P.

I found it on the mothership forums. If this is real, I take back all of the negative things that I've said about Gatecrash.

Simic is going to be awesome in limited it seems. I think Evolve is being vastly underrated tbh.
