At least for the purpose of the pre-release, Selesnya was the best guild. Populate is just a mechanic that is secretly more powerful than you realize. And it appears on so many commons that you will inevitably be able to overtake a game. It is possible that a 'nut pool' with other colors can win, but it takes a nut Rakdos pool to beat a medium Selesnya pool.
This won't be as bad after the pre-release, because you won't be opening a pack that only contains guild cards(meaning you won't always have Guardian Grove, won't have such a high chance of having Trostrani, etc). But for the pre-release, Selesnya was MVP with a bullet
I played all of two non-Izzet watermarked cards in my Izzet deck, and just missed out on top 4. Each of the top 4 players was essentially playing three colors (W/B/G seemed predominant).
The beauty was because no one thought anyone would play Izzet well, they had no way to deal with multiple Electromancers and overloaded spells.
Selesnya because 1 mana 2/1s and 2 mana 3/3s and populate when you destroy things, make flyers or make others indestructible is awesome. I played a golgari box with white splash for selesnya and even if I played a 40 card 13 land+2 keyrune deck with my best rares being Desecration Demon and Underworld Connections, I made the top 8. That should say something.

Emphasis mine. You played 13 land and 3 colors, I'm glad that it worked out for you. Typically, you should have been mana screwed pretty hard. I'm happy you did well though.
The guild packs also contributed to making good pools better and bad pools worse. In 6 fully randomized packs, you're probably at a more medium case. With guild packs, if your 5 standard packs don't support your guild, you're in pretty bad shape, since people that have actual support for their guild are already at a pretty sizable advantage.
The problem judging it is each guild has it's own weakness. Selesnya was great when it got going, but would be crushed by Rakdos. Azorius had similar problems. Izzet seems like it needs a splash from another color to reach it's full potential.
1. Selesnya
2. Azorius/Rakdos
4. Golgari
5. Izzet

Yeah. I had 15 minutes to build, fill in the checklist and sleeve the cards as I rushed to the pre-release from work. I think I was the Mulligan King of the event.
Round one pure golgari with lotleth troll, round three (rakdos), round five (pure selesnya) and my last match at the top eight (golgari with red splash) were the toughest. I won round three by Aerial Predationing my Stab wounded Desecration demon because I was at 7 life and there was an explosive impact to my head. Then my 4/4 Golgari decoy did the dirty work.
Also my other rare was a chromatic lantern which I never drew but maybe drew upon its presence in the deck : P

I won my pre-release with golgari cause I had dredbore, deathrite Shaman, Lotleth troll, Jared, 2 stab wound, 2 selsanya enchant/art destruction, three large creatures, mizzium morters, and some other useful cards. Removal was key. The two izzet decks I fought just drew cards incecently with only a few real threats. The one Azorious deck I fought was ineffective with detain, cause I had many little creatures with regen. Arrest was annoying but drew a means to deal with it. NO azorious creature possed any real threat I faced. Selsanya on the other hand was scary. Life gain from Centars was annoyingm, and armada worm is a house. Deathrite Shaman really controled all the decks and gave me a chance to control counter golgari decks. I never faced a Rackdos deck! Played him for fun and lost to his 2 packed Rackdos (guild leader), and armyof first strike/hastey creatures. Just to much, to soon. Rackdos is first choicefor best guild based on speed and first strike, but Golgari is a contender as well based of regenerate and ease to build a fatty quick. The other guilds lacked removal, big creatures, and overall answers.

I played just Izzet and it was quite finicky. I think I did better than most other Izzet players with five wins and four losses (2-2 overall in matches). But the cards and color completely fit Izzet's lore and feel in terms of winning. There were games where I could not keep up and just got squashed; or, I had the perfect combos to escape the jaws of death into the cradle of victory. Just like Izzet, luckily succeed or fail miserable. Truly a Gamble Guild - inside these drafts.
I came in 3rd out of 32 with my Izzet...My pool wasn't spectacular, but it was solid and I didn't splash (I saw so many people lose to their own lands..), had a good sb plan, and played well.
I don't think there's such a thing as a pool that just scoops. People just need to think outside of the box.

Most Game where won by Jarad Sacking Armada Wurm, Specially against Rakdos in which I manage to make 24 Damage in one Turn with Jarad + Wurm + Token
1 game against Azorius By only casting Pack Rats, the second one won by Sacking Jarad and Second Jarad for Game
Izzet guy tried to Jace me twice but I could control him enough
Selesnya was the Deck I loss to due to opponent winning Life via Deathrites Shaman not allowing me to Jarad him enough to get it to 0 before he continued cloning the 8/8 in the third game

Rakdos worked better for me with the limited card pool because my Azorius pack and subsequent boosters were atrocious. Very disappointed.

Izzet was by far the weakest, which also didn't surprise me.
