Can't believe those who say Palisade Giant isn't good enough to play in limited. 7 toughness makes it a sweet blocker. Even sweeter when it gives your other creatures virtually 7 extra toughness to work with. Elderscale Wurm was much more of a beating but didn't do that.
Pithing Needle for me was MVP to shut down Guildmages, Trestle Troll regen, Keyrunes and that very annoying Grove of the Guardian ! there where other cards that the Needle shuted down but mostly those one.
EDIT : forgot the unblockable land wich I encountered only once.
skymarck roc. Made my opponent's pack rat worthless with all of the removal I had gotten by then. Having a deck of 11 fliers was what really won me the games however. second prerelease I opened not nearly as man fliers so I ended up doing horribly since u/w didn't have many good removal spells.

I don't post that often, but when I do, it looks like this.
For my partner:
Slaughter Games helped keep the Azorious promo out of play.
Chaos Imps was a great finisher
For Me:
Angel of serenity helped turn the tide for most of my games.
Day 1 it was rouges passage and volitale rig I.got a few lucky flips and wiped the board. Day 2 was paliside giant. It rarely stuck around for more than three turns but it stalled just long enough. Cancel was also key
Stab Wound. It was never directly responsible for any big wins, but everytime I played it and it didnt kill his creature straight up my opponent would cringe.
Daggerdome Imp + Corpsejack Menace and everything with scavenge. At several points I would find myself close to dead only for DdI to turn things around for me. Playing against a Selesnya deck, my opponent has Trostani in play and is gaining at least 3 life a turn off centaur tokens (was at 58 or so by the time I dropped my flier) being able to gain 11 then 25 life a turn was, literally, a life saver. Then I got the land that made him unblockable... By the end of it I had well over 100 life.
EDH/Commander is a social format, right? So why don't people use their social skills to discuss what they like and don't like, instead of adopting a list with 60+ banned cards?
Stab Wound x3 in solo, x2 in 2HG. It is something they have to deal with.
In 2HG, we were playing some lobber guys. I was playing UW, my partner was playing Jund (would have just played Rakdos, but pulled x2 Vraska, and a LOL troll). Opponents dropped 2 lobbers, and both ended the game with Stab Wound's and Arrest's on each.
Selesnya: Golgari Decoy. Sounds odd to name a Golgari card but he's in full-colour, so yeah. He's just so much utility. One could wish for a bit better P/T ratio for his 4 mana, but with what he does, he's just a huge underrated tool in the box.
Rakdos: Hellhole Flailer. I am seriously considering testing this guy in T2. He just gets so much work done. Unleash him and you got a powerful beater who can go out with a bang. If you don't, he stilll pulls his weight, but this is one guy you'll almost always wish to Unleash.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Mine were Necropolis Regent and Grave Betrayal. Whenever one or both of them hit it put opponents on a counter. On the non rare plus items my MVPs were Daggerdrome Imp and Sewer Shambler (great scavange cost). Was expecting better cards but it was a nice pool.

"Those who endure in the face of suffering, those whose faith shines long in evil days, they shall see salvation." -Song of All, canto 904
Skymark Roc was definitely my sleeper card. Him with Detain backup means a very, VERY difficult game to get out o, and if you can T4 him, you can push back very effectively. Not counting, of course, the 3/3 body.
has to be grove of the guardian, never came close to losing a game that it made a token, or aerial predation out of sideboard, card was anything but absurd, wish I played GW 4 times not just 2
My first prerelease event I played Golgori with a bit of Rakodos mixed in. I lost my first round to someone using Hover Barriers to slow down the game until he could just detain all of my creatures and kill me with his Armada Wurm or Risen Sanctuary. I figured out that if I had just put in my 3 copies of Aerial Predation I probably would have killed the wall right away and killed him before he got his big fatties. There are a lot of flyers in this set and in the rest of the matches I had the pleasure of Aerial Predationing countless Hover Barriers, a Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius and a Rakdos, Lord of Riots. I won one game by Stab Wounding a Palisade Giant and having fun with a Rix Maadi Guildmage. Oh and I won a round by using Rogue's Passage on a hexproof creature against a detain deck.
Isperia, I drew like 7 cards off of her, it was insane. It also beats for 6 which is nice. Jace was also pretty good. I kept using his +1 ability until I got him to 9, then I cast my opponent's Trostani's Judgment and my 3/4 flash flier. Every other game I did his -2 ability. Hover Barrier was really good at protecting him and was just all around blocking everything all day long, good sideboard card against aggro. Azorius Justicar and Archon of the Triumvirate were also game winning for me. I managed to lock down a New Prahv Guildmage with the two cards I mentioned, who was locking down my bombs.
For the Rares, It was Lotleth Troll for me. Card is so nuts. Not as nuts as pack rats, but still freaking nuts. I was Golgari, so I had Corpsejack Menace to back it up. Gotta tell you, Discarding a creature card for 2 +1/+1 counters is good. Even better when those creatures have scavenge and are Slitherhead's.
For non-rares, Slitherhead x2. They were never flashy or anything, but the flexibility on the manacost and the free scavenge made them so good for me. Especially after landing Corpsejack Menace. Stab wound was also amazing. Only issue I have with it, is your opponent tends to go out of their way to block with their "wounded" creature, to minimalize the life loss. Which I guess makes this a prime piece of removal and still amazing. It was just annoying at times.

God forbid if they had given the giant hexproof.
EDIT : forgot the unblockable land wich I encountered only once.
From what I have played against or seen:
Pack Rat is SICK, if dropped turn 2. Even sicker when combined with scavenge. Even MORE sicker when eventually combined with populate.
And yeah, Stab Wound. This card has the ability to break stalled board. All you do is sit and wait for your opponent to bleed to death.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)

U/B Mill Wrexial, the Risen Deep
R/B/W Angels/Demons/Dragons Kaalia of the Vast
G/B/U Infect The Mimeoplasm
Pallisade Giant, Lotleth Troll and Archon of the Triumvirate were all instant losses for me (when played against me).

As far as bombs go, Angel of Serenity was pretty much unbeatable, and Sphinx's Revelation saved my ass on numerous occasions.
If you are not playing a multitude of bounce or some exile/arrest style effects good luck beating that card.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!

My second prerelease event I played a combination of Azorius and Izzit. I used the Azorus guild pack but I put a bunch of red in. I played Palisade Giant and some Hover Barrier to bring the game to a screeching halt. I also had Hussar Patrol in my hand in case I needed a blocker. I waited til I got Guttersnipe out, then I just went to town with my sorcerys and instants. I had Mizzium Mortars and Cyclonic Rift as a nice board wipes if things got too intense. Dramatic Rescue, Fall of the Gavel, Inaction Injunction, and Inspiration kept my deck going while dealing damage while Guttersnipe was out.
