It's not just supporting two cards if you get five activations of Moorland Haunt. When this is helping you safely equip a 1/1 flier with Sword of War and Peace, maybe you will recognise its value. Until then, realise that like Crystalline Sliver and Scion of Oona, this card is basically guaranteed to see play. Lords that give shroud effects are just inherently powerful, as you've always the random games where you drop two and just win if a sweeper doesn't come.
U/W Spirits is starting to seem like a very legitimate deck. Between powerhouses like Geist of Saint-Traft and This new flying pirate man. I expect to see u/w aggro break down into 2 tribal decks. Of course, the human variant will be much more agressive, and the spirit side will be more controlling with things like the Urn fella and dungeon geists. Swords will always be there

#1) You are completely forgetting the sweeping +1/+1 it gives
#2) You are making an assumption that the Captain goes into the exact style spirit deck, instead of seeing other U/W spirits that become constructed worthy thanks to his presence.
Moorland Haunt tokens don't even really want or need hexproof. If your opponent is wasting removal spells on them you're probably winning anyways. Stopping Vapor Snag is really the only thing that's even remotely decent for them. He's still clunky, and doesn't pump Delver. Although I wouldn't be surprised if he sees play, people need to calm down on calling him an automatic 4 of. If you're playing tokens Intangible Virtue is just better, it pumps your non-spirit tokens (sorin tokens, germs, and soldiers in particular), and doesn't get hosed nearly as easily.

I haven't read one post that even suggests he might be a 4-of, let alone an automatic 4-of.
It's a fine card, but there's nothing that needs hexproof. Until you show me a spirit that you actually want to protect, this guy is just an Adaptive Automation with flying. It's never going to see play over Geist of Saint Traft, and I don't think token decks would play this over Swords. It could be used in addition to Swords of course, but aggressive decks don't have the room and more controlling decks don't need lords.

What a terrible way to evaluate a new card, let alone Drogskol Captain. You're assuming that those are the only two cards to use in...what deck exactly. Also you're not really contributing any discussion, just defaming other people's opinions simply because you don't agree with them. Please be more constructive.
Regarding my original statement with Spectral Rider, I don't see any reason why not to play him in a cheap spirit tribal themed deck. He's a 2/2 for 2 white mana and has intimidate. Drogskol Captain makes him a 3/3 with hexproof and intimidate, Honor of the Puremakes him a 3/3, and Hero of Bladehold can make him a 3/2. He's cheap, he's a spirit, and he has easy utility. Did I ever say he would make T1 decks in Standard? No. Would he be a fun card to use? I think so, especially to lock up the 2 mana creature slot. Being a 3/3 with hexproof and intimidate on turn 3 still has its merits. Something to think about...
To those suggesting Intangible Virtue -- why not just go for Honor of the Pure? If I'm building something more spirit-themed I will probably include Hero of Bladehold as a game finisher, and Honor of the Pure will still impact both your spirit tokens AND the hero.

- Dungeon Geists is a ton stronger with Hexproof, as you can 'permanently' keep a Titan locked down while being able to attack with a 4/4 flyer
- Mindshreiker becomes a legitimate candidate as a U/W spirit finisher, combo enabler, or simple Moorland Haunt feeder

It may be right to make it more than 2 cards now. Like get rid of invisible stalkers in favor of some spirit cards and make fairies-2012.dec .
Captain shuts down a lot of hate previously effective against spirits.
Curse? Doesn't work anymore.
Kibler's ranger? Nope, can't hit you.
Sever the bloodline? Same.
2 power blockers against geist? Too weak.
Humans using anthem to make bigger spirits? You have anthem too now.
I don't even know how to hate this deck anymore except for Glissa+bomb or just packing bunch of sweepers. I pray to God that manabase and manacurve won't support all the staples of UW delver and new squadron spirit card in on deck.

like, say, Snapcaster Mage.
Yeah, that guy sees no play at all.

And Lord of the Unreal. The only reason that card stopped seeing play in Delver decks is because they moved away from Illusions.

People still play red? ::confused2:
Since I play Modern, I really want to protect Tallowisp long enough to Voltron up Geist of Saint Traft into a monster and not just a guy with 2 toughness that dies to Snapcaster Mage. (Hey, Steel of the Godhead boosts the Captain, too, and against Jund, with Moorland Haunt, you should always have Angelic Destiny targets (unless they get whacked in response, but that's what the Captain is for, right?)). Plus, searching for enough Temporal Isolations to madden aggro and hose Grim Lavamancer is fun.
If Tallowisp bites the bullet in response, at least I get 2/2 Spirit tokens from Spectral Procession with this guy out.
