for those who havent read or dont remember which card imperiosaur is
Imperiosaur 2GG
creature - lizard
Spend only mana produced by basic lands to play Imperiosaur.
5/5
its a rether efficient guy, but is it constructed worthy? the main argument against it, is that its very hard to acelerate out, you cant use elves, birds. pendlehaven, pains, duals, signets or even simian spirit guid to power this guy out, the only way to get him of turn 3 is to suspend search for tomarow
however, on the plus side, you can almost always drop this guy on turn 4, where he should be the biggest guy on the board, any thoughts as to the playabillity of this guy in non-limited formats, particularly standard (obv. quite good in limited)
Well... its a 4/4 for 5, which isn't bad. After rav and ninth rotates out, not that many non-basic land sources are going to be played, with no duals. After that, it will be good I suspect. Pick up your copies now.

Magus of the Path 3
Artifact Creature - Construct
Indestructable
Magus of the Path cannot Attack or Block.
1t: If two creatures an opponent controls are blocking, do something unnecessarily complex that has no effect on the game; then destroy half the creatures you control and punch yourself in the face.

5/5 for 4 you mean. Not being able to use elves or birds to play it is annoying in mono-green. It might be played, but I don't think very much. Its like a rumbling slum except with a drawback. Is slum used in RG aggro? No. Curious; very curious.
In MGA, this is not as good as Solifuge, and probably would compete for slots with that and CoTH. Also, midrange cards are just not as competitive, as they reminded us with the fatties week. Once RAV rotates out, losing the cloak and ledgewalker, a big beater for 4 is good, but you can CoTH t2 and t3. So 6/6 of toughness beating down > 5/5 that can block that on t4. Im not saying it's bad, but its not replacing anything yet, imho. Another nail in the coffin is that if you have 4 Forests and an Elf, do you wanna cast a 5/5 or an 8/8 trampler?
The more I think about it, the more I dislike the non-acceleration clause. Green never casts anything without using some bird or druid or wall or crazy barbarian to help the cost. Look at convoke for chrissakes, that is all about getting creatures out for a song. The 'saur just doesnt make me very happy, and I love MGA. He might find his way in there this summer, but for now, he's gonna ride the pine.
(M:tG) It's a hobby which costs money. You can't play golf without the right clubs and a membership for the golf court, you can't play paintball with a cardboard armor and a sling, you can't go to the movies without paying for a ticket and you can't play Magic without owning the cards. Simple as that.
IMHO, it's a good constucted card. You can essentially drop it by turn 3, which is quite scary seeing that he's almost like a -derm, without the fading and the untargetable. We'll still have to see the rest of the FS cards to see if this will really make it into the constructed scene.

Well, not really a turn 3 drop. A large number of mana (especially acceleration) won't be from basic lands, especially if you're playing multi-coloured.
Also, the Untargetability was a very big deal with the Derm. I think it still would be just as much.

You cannot drop it turn 3, because you can only play it with mana from basic lands. so unless you have something that causes a basic land to give you 2 mana from one land, then it's not seeing play until at least turn 4
Edit: I was before, I should really say it like this: since you cannot use the mana from 1cc mana producers that weakens the card's playability. It may be true that you can use Rampant Growth and Into the North to play it 3rd turn, but why would you do that in a deck that has no business playing cards on 2nd turn that aren't going to deal damage on turn 3.
That leaves you with Yavimaya Dryad, and for that to work you've got to drop a Birds or Elves 1st turn in order to play her turn 2 and then imperiosaur on turn 3. However that leaves you with 3 or 4 (depending on if you went first or 2nd) cards in hand, nothing on the table that is untargetable or has reliable evasion, and you are incredably open to wrath and damnation.
Into the North and its brethren could make it a turn 3 play.
The problem is that it's not just duals, for the Rav and Ninth rotation, but there's also Desert, Scrying Sheets and Mouth of Ronom, which are usually enjoyed by mono-colored decks. Also, I wish it had something more, like trample. As is, it's just not quite worth it.

My anecdotal evidence disagrees with yours! EXPLAIN THAT!

Tune 1: Land
Turn 2: Land, Rampant Growth
Turn 3: Land, Drop Imper.
Any case, this is a great addition to my MGA deck ^^.
Honestly, I'd like to want to play this card, but compare it to calciderm and spectral force. It doesn't really match up to either.
It's not terrible, though, and I think I'll end up playing it in block, but only grudgingly.
It's also a sealed bomb. As it is, it's 3/5 in my grade sheet. They could have at least made it common. Then again, we still don't know the distribution of cards in FS.
With some insane green beef and Troll Ascetic coming in 10th, I can see an insanely powerful mono-green emerging where this "vanilla" 5/5 for 4 with no drawback (if all your lands are forests) could be very nice for rounding out the curve.

After Ravnica rotates out and all the negativity associated with the drawback goes away due to the fact that duals don't exist anymore, yeah, it will see play for a short time until people realize they can't accelerate it out, it doesn't have trample, and it's soft against Black removal.

Getting the last word does not mean that you win the argument.
Its way better then Emporer Crocodile thats for sure. Nothing is worse then that card being out and someone bouncing or killing your only other creature or something.
I hear 2 for 1s are good anyways this is a solid card its better then Ernham and with MGA losing most of its best spells this will probably have a home. That is assuming they still have a competitive deck list as of right now its not really in competition for the current fat available.
For cheapskates like me who can't really get many good non-basic lands, This card will be excellent. I will be looking for some of them. And some shocklands for my set.

With all, put the same thing except with / in front of what type of tags they are (like [/card]) to close them.
Card: [card]
Hybrid: :symub: = order doesn't matter
If I get enough I might see how they play in my mono green build.
Or you could just get pieces of paper and write on it what the card does. Its called proxying.

Meh its not bad but a 5/5 with no ability and a drawback is not that great for green, when Xth hits well have troll, solifuge, force, breaker and mare which are way better fat (troll i list as fat due to its one sided untargetability and cheap ass regen), compare it to rumbling slum which had the same stats a more annoying casting cost and a draw back that could be easily played around(it even benefited gruul) and i still would prefer the slum (and that doesnt see play anymore).

I used to write cube articles on StarCityGames, now for GatheringMagic and podcast about cube (w/Antknee42.)
Is snow even a "basic" land? i think so...
The other 5/5 for 4, Iwamori of the Open Fist, doesn't even compare because it has trample, and a usually negligible drawback.

turn 1 forest, elf.
turn 2 forest, tap out for Yavimaya dryad keep the new forest.
turn 3 play it.
So I think it might see some use, but timbermare, and spectral force are better.
