I think B/G has to at least have it in the sideboard. It is the only reset swittch available to them. It isn't a 4 of like people were saying before the release but it is a powerful card
"Wall of Roots trades with Doran. Doran doesn't like Wall of Roots. You would think he might, as they are both trees. But Doran is a sociopathic tree. He and other trees don't get along – hell, he doesn't even get along with himself. Have you seen what happens when you cast two Dorans? Let me tell you, it isn't pretty." -Uri Peleg
It is a piece of crap card. I cracked 3 in packs and tried to play them. They're nearly unplayable even in B/G Rock. It's slow, requires a lot of mana and gets problematic when you have board control, which is what you want to have often with the Rock. Black has crazy creature removal now and green can easily deal with artifacts/enchantments. Then you have Putrefy. You must might see 4 Putrefy/4 Last Gasp in EVERY Rock maindeck. You may also see Naturalize in every sideboard. There is no reason whatsoever to play Boiler. I sold a couple to Mtgfanatic.com for 11 dollars USD. I encourage everyone to do this while they can.
Their prices are already beginning to plummet on Ebay. All the signs that you should sell/trade em while you can. Mass removal artifacts are getting wimpier and wimpier every set. Disk --> Keg --> Stone --> Jank Boiler.
Also, if you hear anyone comparing this to Pernicious Deed, slap them.
umm just stop there please. the card is a great board clearer that gets rid of everything. i'm trying to see what is wrong w/ that. this one is controllable. you just need to stop talking out of your ass.

Its only useful in drafts and the like in cnonstructed its useless. Almost every deck comes packing anti artifact cards on the sideboard at the very least out of fear of the jitte. A rule that makes it incredibly useless is that adding extra counters after the third one does nothing so as soon as that third counter comes on it the artifact hate comes out in response and its gone with no effect. Its main problem is htat its activated ability is not something that destroys everything so before it explodes it gets destroyed. Also you need to pay 3 mana each turn to stop it from blowing up when you dont want it to that slows down decks a lot in the early going and later in a game theres so much to get rid of it that itll never go off

Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled

It may not have a place in competitive play, but casual, I find it to be fun. Esspecially after I have a Woodwraith Corrupter in play turning my lands into 4/4 creatures, blow up the boiler, and swing for the win.

Plague Boiler loves a deck that has about 6 land by turn 3. (that's land, not signets/mana creatures...)
I kill you with
it.

What a constructive post.
Plague Boiler could yet be useful in Block Constructed (depending on the quality of mass removal in GP)
