In a formatt with rv duals and fetchlands, with goblins and burn making TOP 8, how viable are these lands once all the hype dies down. You loss 1 life for a tapped land, or 3 if untapped, when you use the fetch lands. I have to say that if these lands are supposed to make legacy affordable, then they have failed in that objective. On the other hand...they are great Type 2/Block and Extended cards. That means that there only longstanding source of demand will be for extended, so I expect a huge price drop when Ravnica leaves Type 2.

Every card sees a big price drop when they leave standard. Then they rise in price again even more about a year later (if they're any good in extended) because people realize that they all just got rid of the perfect card for ____ deck once extended season rolls around.
The thing is that people already know that these are the best thing extended has seen in a long time, so no one's going to give them up.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
The shocklands(stupid nickname i prefer pick/choice lands) are bad in legacy, but only when you compare them to the original dual lands. If you don't have a playset of the original duals(and can't afford them) however the shocklands while not as good are still much better than the painlands and other choices available to people trying to break into legacy.
or just print enemy ones in guildpact or something....although then all the lands in this block together would be worth more tehn all of kami block...

if you are ever being chased by a police dog, try not to run through a tunnel, then over a little see-saw, then jump through a ring of fire. theyre trained for that

True that.:jam:
Anyway. If these things are going to be $20, you might as well get duals.
OK, you want "8" dual lands(for probability sake). Option 1:
4x Tunra
4x Volcanic Island
$200-$240
duh...
Option 2:(cheaper, and has more card advantage)
2x Tundra
2x Volcanic Island
4x Flooded Strand
2x Polluted Delta
$150-$170
Option 3:(a crapload of pain)
4x Shockland(U/W)
4x Shockland(U/R)
$160-$200
And for option 3, you can forget adding painlands because that is just to much life loss.

But people usually set off fetch lands at the end of their opponent's turn anyway, so you'll rarely lose 3 life.
And wasn't it confirmed that they're going to be in theme decks? If that's the case, they won't be more than $10 or so.
I think you're calling your chickens skinny before they've hatched: wait until there are some Legacy Tournaments with these things.

Mafia MVP Matrix Mafia
Here comes hopes for all 10 fetchlands in the 2006 set. (lol, mana bases would be impervious in Standard as well)
