So, has anyone come up with a decent deck that incorporates either Genju of the Realm or ALL the Genjus???
Cause right now, for a 60 card deck, using all Genjus is about impossible, if you want the deck to be decent. OR you could just slap all Genjus(4x each) and 30 lands, 6 per color in a deck and give it a whirl.......
I collect: Vedalken Heretic, Lorescale Coatl, Reaper King, Worldslayer, Woodwraith Corrupter, Lorthos, the Tidemaker. Soon to collect Conquering Manticore.
I demanded a Manticore, and Wizards delivered. I now demand a Chimaera. The REAL one, not, Chimeric items. I also demand a new Gorgon. And more Manticores please.
It wouldbe nice to ba able to use some onslaught sac lands to smooth things out...

The first thing that comes to my mind is how Genju of the Realms is going to be a STAPLE in every 5-Color and Prismatic deck (that is, until it gets banned/restricted in those formats).
We should find some nice land to enchant, the first that comes to my mind is Darksteel Citadel, the Genju would be Indistructible.
No, the FIRST thing that comes to mind is the Darksteel Citadel can only be enchanted by Genju Of The Realms. It'll be interesting seeing interactions with Dual Lands in Legacy Casual.

Yeah it'd probably be something like 2 of each of the 10 duals, 2 of each of the fetchlands, all 6 genjus. Well, maybe a few less of something and some wrath in there to take advantage of the fact that all of your creatures are "man-lands"

Yep, with Plateau, for example would be great. Make it a 6/1 and attack, put the 6 damage on the stack, and then change it to a 2/5 Spirit Link so it can take a lot and gain you life.
Well this has been confirmed in other posted but I figure it needs it own discussion as it is the only gold card in a long time. Here is the card in case you have not seen:
Genju of the RealmWUBRGLegendary Enchant Land: Enchanted Land becomes a legendary 8/12 Spirit Creature with trample until end of turn. It's still a land.
When enchanted land is put into a graveyard from play, you may return Genju of the Realm to owner's hand.Illus.: Scott M Fischer#151/165
Obviously it will not do much in constrcuted or limited because of its mana cost but it is a casual player's dream I am sure. Also this will not but is could make some people believe that five color sunburst is playable in T2 although it will not be very good. So Discuss!
I was really hoping the card would be really good, a card that would make people actually want to play five color, a card that would make people want to try to fill their decks with land and fixers just to drop this card and win. This is definitely not that card, it requires a combo with a legendary land, a combo with a WUBRG card should wwin the game, like cromat and tht enchantment that said you win if you have a creature of each color, of course they neutered the combo by making you need 5 DIFFERENT creatures, but it still worked back in the day.

I could see this card going into a fun casual sunburst deck. Put it in with some Bringers, Skyreach Manta, Door to Nothingness (just for fun :biggrin3:) and add in some Orochi Leafcaller and Pentad Prism for mana fix. At least a halfway decent Sunburst deck. I don't really think it has any tournament potential, especially T2. Maybe Block, as there is enough mana fix and land search to produce 5 colors pretty quick.

Here's a stretch, but maybe it could make a fun casual life gain deck. Since it is reusable and has a high toughness, it can be abused with "Sacrifice a creature: You gain life equal to that creature’s toughness,” style effects. Examples include:
With a proper set-up, you can easily gain 12 life a turn. Using Worthy Cause (with lots of Mana) or multiple Boneyards, you could possibly gain 24 life a turn! Add Well of Lost Dreams for card drawing. What, a kill condition? Maybe swing with the Genju or Ageless Entity with Trample? Sounds fun.
Actually, this card is great in draft or sealed for one reason and one reason only: Orochi Leafcaller. Yeah, if you are drafting green and have a leafcaller or two, Genju of the Realms is a great pick.
An entwined rude awakening means you have 8 mana available. For the cost of 3, you get a 8/12 trampler. With 8 lands/mana out, you'll get 2 creatures out of it. And if you have heartbeat of spring out untap your lands with another rude awakening for another! heh.

......WTF????....... I don't even know what kind of warning you deserve for this....
I like it! I don't know if there's quite enough mana fixing in the block to take Genju of the Realm in limited, but it's definitely a fun card. 8/12 trample is pretty interesting, I must admit.
This card pushes Orochi Leafcaller up to a top-3 to top-4 pick, I'd say. If I got 2-3 Leafcallers in a draft (and it happens) then I opened a Genju in my BOK pack, I'd take it, no doubt. I had a draft once where I got 3 Kodama's Reaches and 2 Leafcallers. Imagine what I could have done with that. (That was a funny draft...the 3 Reaches were my first 3 picks, and the Leafcallers were picks 5 and 7)
The deck I made with the Genju of the Realm seems to work pretty nicely in casual. It's mono black using Crystal Quarry. I had put it together a little while back and when I used Legacy Weapon and Last Stand. Not really tournament quality but a lot of fun to play.
Turn One: Birds
Turn Two: Something that would help you in the mean time against say Affinity.
Turn Three: Channel -> GotR
Turn Four: Swing and you have 1-2 mana spare. (Blazinng Shoal anyone?)
i'm thinking of throwing genju of the realm in my new 5 colour shrine deck(with mirror gallery of course) as an alternate win to the red and green shrines.
How bout you genju an opponents land and then eradicate it?
Genju of the Fens you would keep on your side.
Maybe,
4xEradicate
4xRain of Tears
4xStone Rain
4xEach SPECIFIC genju
etc

While that sounds decent on paper, what do you do when your opponent is playing Black and you're drawing Genju of the Fields? It's too inconsistent to run 12-16 dead cards in your deck.
