if you are ever being chased by a police dog, try not to run through a tunnel, then over a little see-saw, then jump through a ring of fire. theyre trained for that

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
Of course in BoK we've got:
Hikori, dust drinker = Winter Orb,
Kami of false hope = Holy Day(already been done as spore frog = fog),
as well as the already mention Toshiro Umezawa = Yawgmoth Will(or close enough).
Wizards have been making these "spells on a stick" for ages some other notable ones are weathered wayfarer = tithe on a stick, man o war = unsummon on a stick, mystic snake = counterspell on a stick, and of course both sakura tribe elder and solemn simulacrum = rampant growth on a stick and many others.
Spells on legs is suppose to help lower the power of spells. I wouldn't be surprised to see some super powered spells of the past return in creature form. Creatures afterall are the weakest permanent type against elim (bounce, terror like effects, burn, etc).
You forgot the one everyone plays! Sakura-Tribe Elder = Rampant Growth. Other than that:
Goblin Legionaire = Shock (and then some)
Desolation Angel, Myojin of Infinite Rage = Armageddon
Desolation Giant, Myojin of Cleansing Fire = Wrath

Spells on legs/on a stick only lower the power of the original if they require an extra cost like tapping or mana to use or if they're horribly overpriced or if they alter the original spells effect to much(toshi). A spell on a stick with a come into play effect or a free sacrifice effect are generally as good if not better than the original spells as long as the cost is reasonable, generally if a spell on a stick costs as much or less than the creature its on + the spell its based on it's good.
Some examples of good spells on sticks are:
sakura tribe elder- exact same cost as rampant growth and a 1/1 as well.
spore frog- exact same cost as fog and a 1/1 as well.
viridian shaman/uktabi orangatan- 2 more than oxidize but with a bears body.
man o war- 2 more than unsummon but with a bears body.
nekrataal- 1B more than terror but with a 2/1 first striking body as well.
eternal witness- G more than regrowth but with a savannah lions body.
mystic snake- 1G more than counterspell but with a bears body.
And zozu the punisher is great only 1 mana more than ankh of mishra and with a bears body which is generally pretty good in a sligh style deck. In the current environment i'd actually prefer zozu over ankh of mishra because of the high amount of artifact hate.

Any samurai=any (vanilla) pump spell
The list goes on and on and on and on. You really can't quantify all the spells on legs there have been.
