Before previews for Secrets of Strixhaven officially begin, I thought it would be fun to do another of my Duelist-style teasers where I give tiny hints of things to come. Note that I’m only giving you partial information.
First up, here are some things you can expect:
• An ability word returns which first appeared on a second visit to a popular plane
• Four of the five school get a new mascot (aka creature tokens and sometimes cards)
• A mythic rare cycle that grants your instants and sorceries old keywords
• A new mechanic that redoes an old mechanic without its drawback
• A spell which costs {X}{X}{U}
• A mechanic that has been in Magic for many years finally becomes a card name
• a 6/6 with a mana value of 1
• A new Pox spell
• A spell that grants a specific deciduous mechanic to any cards of two specific card types
• A cycle referencing iconic spells from Alpha
Next, here are some rules text that will be showing up on cards:
• “Whenever [CARDNAME] attacks, you may cast target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard without paying its mana cost.”
• “each Pest, Bat, Insect, Snake, and Spider you control.”
• “add an amount of {R} equal to this creature’s power.”
• “you may exile cards from your graveyard.”
• “Exile an instant or sorcery card from your graveyard:”
• “where X is the number of differently named lands you control.”
• “Round down each time.”
• “When this land enters, choose a land card name.”
oh right we are one week away but sadly leaks struck again to ruin these
An ability word returns which first appeared on a second visit to a popular plane
Actually maro made a mistake doing this one, episode 2 of strixhaven story revealed this one
its Converge that was from the second visit to Zendikar (Battle for Zendikar/Oath of the Gatewatch)
A mythic rare cycle that grants your instants and sorceries old keywords
its the Elder dragons Lorehold gave instants and sorceries miracle from the first look
A mechanic that has been in Magic for many years finally becomes a card name
it will be interesting to see what it is, i looked at the leaks none of them match this (to clarify it saids "Card name" so its not "Mill" finally being keyworded situation, if that was the case the teaser would be "Grandeur since a page from codie has it.)
A spell that grants a specific deciduous mechanic to any cards of two specific card types
basically its a ability that lets creatures cast a spell stapled on to them if they are prepared, and become unprepared once you do. so its a backwards adventure and taking Magus version of creatures to a whole new level
as for the leaked card....this one does......Ancstral Recall thats right! a power 9 loopholed reprint (well the third version loot from aetherdrift also did it)
“each Pest, Bat, Insect, Snake, and Spider you control.”
OH YEA HES BACK!!!
“where X is the number of differently named lands you control.”
*stress blow* this will either be beyond broken or horrible remember nearly every commander deck on the planets next to none basics thats only if its mono or two color once you go three and up (which is most decks) its mostly nonbasic
Creature – Giraffe
GAHH! my gosh changelings are now Giraffes now, now we definitely need to go to Zhalfir now that its it's own plane since thats a african based plane
Except grandeur is a) an existing mechanic and b) NOT a card name, if that was what you were implying (apologies if it wasn't).
I read this teaser as "a card in this set has the same name as a longstanding Magic mechanic," like Vigilance for example. We'll see...

yes i meant its a card named from a keyword
oh by the way i think the right answer could be "Flashback"
• A mythic rare cycle that grants your instants and sorceries old keywords
its the five Elder dragons from last time (the founders)
Silverquil gives em causality 1 — Sac a creature of that power to copy (new capenna)
Prismari gives em Storm — Makes copys equal to the number of spells cast
Witherbloom gives em affinty for creatures — Reduces cost for number of type in play of what affinity saids for this case creatures
Lorehold gives em Miracle — If you draw it as your first card you cast for the miracle cost its just 2 for this case
Quandrix gives em Cascade — AFter casting you flip till you hit a nonland spell of lesser mana value and can cast it for free
A new mechanic that redoes an old mechanic without its drawback
Paradigm is the mechanic is a no drawback version of....Epic
Recap of the epic cards from before for newer players
basically they took a pencil and erased the "For the rest of the game, you can’t cast spells." part now it just keeps exiling itself over and over again for free on each upkeep if you want (mostly gonna be yes ofcourse)
A mechanic that has been in Magic for many years finally becomes a card name
....right here
A cycle referencing iconic spells from Alpha
Emeritus of Ideation is the blue one its a prepare creature that can cast a spell that's from card from alpha days this one does Ancestral Recall

here you go culprit list
the Blue one was just leaked just now
This also Unmasks what "Prepared" does as well
basically its a ability that lets creatures cast a spell stapled on to them if they are prepared, and become unprepared once you do. so its a backwards adventure and taking Magus version of creatures to a whole new level
as for the leaked card....this one does......Ancstral Recall thats right! a power 9 loopholed reprint (well the third version loot from aetherdrift also did it)
so we can except iconic spells from alpha so culprit list for the other 4 (i would say Time walk or/and Time twister but those are also blue
( it could be the "boons" Healing salve Dark ritual lightning bolt and Giant Growth)
