The set's first showcase treatment is called the woodblock treatment, as seen here.
Returning to this set are double-faced cards, showing off the transformations of several characters in the franchise. Also shown here is the borderless treatment for legendary creatures.
Next on the DFC list, sidequests. There will be four others in the set, including Blitzball.
For a non-DFC new mechanic, summons are in the set as Saga creatures.
The set will also have a bonus sheet called FINAL FANTASY Through the Ages, with existing Final Fantasy artwork and lots of reskins. First off, Ancient Copper Dragon as the Dragon of Mount Gulg and Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow as Yuffie.
Next, Cloud and Sephiroth face off as the faces of the Starter Kit.
Finally, th commandrs of th st in woodblock tratmnt.

Now I don’t play this series but I can still talk about the cards (though a factor of knowing about it is kingdom hearts)
anway let’s get too it
Tonberry: definitely a nice untap target to shortcut that stun counter and it has thr second most obnoxious French vanilla keyword combo deathtouch with first strike. And only one dang mana so this will be handy for players
cactuar: …. Okay I can't resist
anyway why don't I just leave these here (some are for second main since it’s until end of turn)(remember to stack the abilities in the right order)
Sin, spira: that could be a candidate for a popular commander you got a “Titan trigger” that makes token permanents from cards in the yard so Deadeye Navigator effects will come into play here.
Moogles merchant: merry Christmas Zedruu the Greathearted because we all know dang well the golden theme is bad gifts so you are a fool mot to include nine lives for this one
Garland + flipside: the one commander that makes this impossible to get rid of this dude is Grenzo, Dungeon Warden (especially since you only need 1 x to do it)
Cecil: flipping it is clearly worth it but how easy will it be to get to 20 life in commander
Emet-selch + Hades: not bad for the first side a Titan trigger of looting, the flip condition ain't that hard in commander. Which flips into hades which is basicallyYawgmoth's Agenda on a creature and it’s better since it’s not a “one spell” restriction
white side quest: looking forward to the cycle because this looks decent and how easy it is to flip this will be beautiful in my Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch with the myr tokens
Summon saga: oh boy that means Tom Bombadil will be getting more toys in this set and these could be really good as blockers for his decks
Special guest card: good news is finally a copper dragon reprint. The bad news… it’s not gonna reduce the price at all, first not common to pull special guest, second the artist is “Yoshitaka Amano” remember the liliana, dreadhorde general art he did for the anime version of the planes walkers in “war of the spark” that’s like still a $96 dollar card (and I’m talking nonfoil)

It bothers me a bit that Sazh's Chocobo isn't legendary, when they specifically made it Sazh's and not a generic chocobo chick.
Sazh seems like a big chocobo fan. Only one chocobo chick he bought escaped and gained a life of its own (as a humanoid to boot). Who knows what Sazh's son, Dajh, did to the rest of the chicks.
Cecil, Dark Knight might help spruce up modern's death's shadow deck. 2/3 deathtouch with upside (for that specific deck) is no slouch. It does /somewhat/ have that lifelink downside when it flips, but that's not entirely bad actually.
I wish the tonberry came with a shield counter as well as a stun counter, those things dodge all the time.
Cecil is probably my favorite card previewed so far. Would have been cool if he came with an airship vehicle token seeing as he was captain of a fleet and all. Also would have been neat if he flipped into a 0/1 paladin as when he swapped classes in game he got reset to lvl 1.
I will never be a fan of UB, and I don't have any great love for Final Fantasy having only ever played the first game (which has no named characters nor any of the later worldbuilding). But I gotta say after Aetherdrift, this somehow feels more like a Magic set. Actually being a fantasy setting does do something.

So the amount of playing the FF series I did was one night at a gaming party at a friend's house. I remember watching him do the crazy experience thing, so probably FFX? But I did read 8-Bit Theater webcomics. There was one named character from FF1 that I was delighted to see, Garland! I have no idea what his story is, but if 8-Bit Theater is accurate, we'll get Black Mage putting the moves on White Mage...

honestly this is exactly what I predicted
this Would be one of the more acceptable UB because FF could easily feel magic like, the only draw back is the lore factor (for some people not me) is that the technology/futurist factor could be compared to neon dynasty and probably the upcoming edge of eternity
