I'm surprised to see these, I could have sworn they said they wouldn't be doing any more UW cards for any Secret Lair cards.
I think it was more that without set boosters they weren’t going to put UW printings in regular booster products. I think promos are a good compromise here

They said they wouldn't promise UW cards for UB booster products.
They also implied they would no longer be able to use the method used before (The List) to do UW versions of UB cards from Secret Lairs as they had planned, but were working on an alternative solution.
Could be either of those pieces of information that arrived at your end wrong.
