So, Boros Charm, a new Lava Spike, Burst Lightning, Ball Lightning and Ghitu Lavarunner are all in Foundations. Standard currently has Lightning Helix and Monastery Swiftspear. That's most of a deck right there, just fill in the rest with your preferred little creatures or other burn spells.

Based purely on personal preferences, this may be my favorite set in the card so far. Might honestly be the perfect card for Torban, Thane of Red Fell burn, dealing 5 to each opponent while triggering Guttersnipe for an additional 4 to each, all for a single red mana.

Finally, Modern Burn gets a new toy! And it hits through Leyline of Sanctity to boot!

Good question. It's not like i have any clue either but i'm having a hard time imagining an alternate wording. "It deals 3 damage to each opponent" and "This spell deals 3 damage to each opponent" both seem to be direct downgrades from simply stating "Boltwave deals 3 damage to each opponent", so maybe it was simply more practical to keep the old approach?

Cost reductions were changed to "this spell." It is odd that just this one situation went unchanged.
