even though this UB is getting people quite steamed but are first look is October 18th for this set so the Marvel set looks like its gonna be in 2025 so far
Fans stopping by the Marvel booth will also be able to check out a hands-on demo of the hit mobile action game Marvel Contest of Champions for its 10-year anniversary, and get their very first look at Marvel and Magic: The Gathering's upcoming collaboration. Magic: The Gathering will also have a panel with some surprise reveals for fans on Friday, October 18th!
The only reason I care about the Marvel UB is it will be an easy birthday/Christmas gift for my brother. After that this is going to be more format warping cards and special treatments for whales.
I wonder if Rober Downey Jr will appear both as Iron Man and Doctor Doom

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Thanos would be a flavor win JUST because of Fist of Suns as a reference to the Infinity Gauntlet.

Almost. Fist of Suns let's you play a spell for one of five mana, where as the Infinity Gauntlet holds six gems. It would be better if it required one colorless mana as well just for the six theme.
I run an Avengers themed EDH deck. The commander is Esika/Prismatic Bridge as Heimdall and the Bifrost Bridge with Planeswalkers as the Avengers. I only allow it to run 7 artifacts, Ichormoon Gauntlet as reference to Infinity Gauntlet, and 6 others that loosely relates to the idea of a single stone (Chromatic Lantern is the Reality Stone because it changes how your lands tap, Chromatic Orrery is the Mind Stone because it lets you draw 5 repeatedly, Gilded Lotus is the Power Stone because it provides straight ramp, Commander's Sphere is the Time Stone as it speeds you up a turn when played and again when you draw, The Chain Veil is the Soul Stone because it affects PWs "souls" and Arcane Signet is the Space Stone because everything else was used).

These Universes Beyond first looks tend to be around 6 months before release. Is your brother's birthday in March or April?

It'll probably get the same treatment Lord of the Rings got.
So Tropic Thunder Robert Downey Jr?

I, for one, am looking forward to everything Marvel and Magic. I have an open mind and enjoy diversity.
I will get much enjoyment from watching others loose their excrement over the Marvel UB. I'm that much of a sadist... Each time an elitist gatekeeper cries over it I smile. In fact, I hope they rage-quit the game because that sort of negativity needs to be purged from the game. I'm not expecting this world to be a place of everyone get's a participation trophy and it's an idyllic utopia where we all sing Kumbaya and pick wild daisies; but ever since the bannings I've really seen the ugly side of some MtG players. If the bannings aren't the last straw for some, hopefully the Marvel UB will be.

What does this even mean? Looked like a "those that don't like what I like are dumb," but then it devolves into something about participation trophies. What does one have to do with the other?
Looked like a "those that don't like what I like are dumb,"
Those that "don't like what I like are dumb" are exactly the elitist gatekeepers refusing to play against magic players with UB cards he was referring to. Since those are toxic players, even if it won't bring world peace, what he hopes is that UB products will enrage said gatekeepers so much that they will disappear all together from the game, exactly because they can't tolerate to play a game with UB products, so that at least mtg will be a bit more inclusive environment without said toxic elements. He explained himself perfectly, as usual you're the only one not grasping and understanding what other people say.

That would be pretty funny in that context hehe, but I more meant that I think they might do "original art" like they did for Lord of the Rings. They could do the same here with Marvel stuff, but maybe Marvel are more "it has to look like our art", so who knows. The Tolkien estate seems a bit more "you can pay us a ton of money and get a couple of crumbs. We'll hate you no matter how you depict it anyway" lol

Speaking of toxic. The question was what participation trophies have to do with someone not liking UB, but it's cool you made it an insult. Almost like you and the above poster may be just as toxic as the ones you describe.
There's room for everyone chaps. The game is over 30 years old and has thousand and thousand of cards. It's possible for people who want to play Magic and people who want to play Fortnite to do so at the same time. Just pick the table where they play what you enjoy and everybody has fun.
As much as I hate how Wizards are watering down Magic as a whole with all this stuff, I only play with my good friends and we just ignore the cards/sets we don't enjoy. We always have a blast and I've honestly never had more fun playing Magic than now. I just hope the people who enjoy having Thanos crewing Max Verstappen's Red Bull won't care when I throw up a little in my mouth, like I won't care about them enjoying it. It's kinda similar to coexisting with Coldplay or U2 fans.

Yellow card for misusing the term "gatekeeper".
Gatekeeping is the act of witholding information or access. If a store would be excluding decks that play UB, that would be gatekeeping. If an official tournament would not allow players to play with UB because "it's not real Magic", then that would be gatekeeping.
But individual people not wanting to play with or against UB isn't gatekeeping. That's simply them exercising their right to decide when, where, what and with whom to play. You are not entitled to the use of my freetime. Who do you think you are???
(Also, I hope it doesn't need to be said, but the yellow card was just me being droll. I have zero power nor intention to moderate here.)
I'm just excited to have two Avengers decks. My current one is PWs themed around Avengers, so I could loan an actual Avengers deck out to someone and we could play Avengers vs. Avengers.
And now I generated the idea of a Mutant deck so we can replay the AvX event. In thinking of all this, what's the likelihood the commander decks get the Dr. Who treatment where we have an Avengers deck, an X-Men deck, a "street level" hero deck and a villian deck?

Nope, but I always buy gifts early.
