Hope you like topdecks. Valgavoth's Onslaught lets you dig as deep as you want, and manifest some things much bigger than 2/2. Wickerfolk Thresher is a bit slower, and ramps if your graveyard is stocked up.
why in he heck is onslaught not a story spotlight?!
because you will notice the two fighters on the onslaught oh yea… it’s tyvar and the wanderer and Valgavoth did infact do this in the final battle after zimone and tyvar did a surprise attack
Holy crap, that Onslaught lives up to its name, I'm looking forward to opening this in my pool/drafts, you just can't go wrong with 2x 4/4's for five mana, especially if you ramp up to it, and getting 3x 5/5's for seven is not necessarily unrealistic if you pull off a grindy Golgari deck.

Yep, this should have been a story spotlight, they let it slip here.
Well, now we know that Valgavoth is not just a scary monster but actually an extremely powerful mana engine. Look at what those XX must have been in that art. That's 20-30 mana right there.
(I'm always looking for a nice finisher for my MH3 land matter deck. That will slot right in. 15 mana should net... mmm 7 9/9s)
I think Valgavoth's Onslaught is the rare that you draft and splash for no matter what colors you're in. Easy color requirement and it's good at whatever X value you can afford.

We already have, what, 16 lands spoiled from the set? All of them are in the House. Valgavoth has access to all of them at all times.
