Lots and lots of Future frames makes me a very happy Kavu... Until I realized how hard it'd probably be to get a set of them! So, please, Wizards: Retail version!

Thou shalt not have others of the same Legendary before me Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face Thou shalt not change rules in vain Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities Thou shalt not kill mana burn Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards All must be one
I actually like a lot of the potential design space they are pushing with those test cards, and I think multiple of these are actually hints for things to come:
- Shackle (Equip, but only to creatures of an opponent, with appropiate effects) expanding on what equipment can do for example seems like something they will do sooner or later.
- Nagas (and Serpents) being erratad to Snakes was already known.
- Castable emblems might be something they will try in the future as well (though I wonder whether that means that they would become permanents then).
- Also still thinking they will one day solve the rules headache about allowing a card to grant additional mode choices for modal spells.
- Hope springs eternal that they will one day be able to make splice onto instants and sorceries more of a thing.
- Conjuring cards with specific names outside of Arena as well as using names and specific words in general seem like things that can be done in normal paper magic and it would surprise me if they never did those things again.
- I also agree that the "afraid" mechanic might be a hint towards Duskmourn.
Overall really nice cards and a shame that there is no retail version.
- Shackle (Equip, but only to creatures of an opponent, with appropiate effects) expanding on what equipment can do for example seems like something they will do sooner or later.

The test cards also contain mechanics we know fizzled such as "Buddy list" on Champion of the Hareish, which sounds uncannily like Fellowship, which got canned due to rampant memory issues.
The "Planet" mechanic sounds uncannily like foreshadowing for the space (opera) set, though.
Ok can somebody explain me please why the hell Call of the Grave is now simultanously a Playtest Card and an Astral Micropose card? Is this card legal in tournaments like Arden Angel or not?
(Incase it’s too blurry it saids “mysterious Face-Down creatures” so for the third set in a row face down matters will be a thing.
Even if they do, it will be still less overdone than the year of DFCs.
Also wouldn't "in a row" imply Bloomburrow as well? You don't get "in a row" with breaks in between.
yea I meant to say “this year.” With the “in a row” part (misspoke a little)
but yea I know it won't be a lot assassin creed set only had 5 cards that involve face down/morph/disguise/manifest/cloak.
I would guess %50-%70 less compared to murders at Karlov manor did and probably what the tarkir revisit will do. (When Ugin made Tarkir a homeplane to him, he taught all the clans the gift of concealment magic (morph/manifest).)
among these cards are several cards that have been alchemy only and would require proxies to play
Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face
Thou shalt not change rules in vain
Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy
Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities
Thou shalt not kill mana burn
Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility
Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack
Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards
All must be one
So far the only safe guess is this one atleast
and it’s literally a foreshadow for duskmourn all four types mentioned will be swarming in Duskmourn
To explain facedown part you just need to look at this

That O Kagachi is soo pretty with the mana symbols in Future Frame
Maybe it's just a too many product lines thing and me mostly just following premier sets, but when have they done any since Murders at Karlov Manor?
Assassin creed set
Even if they do, it will be still less overdone than the year of DFCs.
Also wouldn't "in a row" imply Bloomburrow as well? You don't get "in a row" with breaks in between.
Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
Factions: Sleeping
Remnants: Valheim
Legendary Journey: Heroes & Planeswalkers
Saga: Shards of Rabiah
Legends: The Elder Dragons
Read up on Red Flags & NWO
