That red rare is the epitome of putting all your eggs in one mana-expensive basket. You think you're constantly ahead by dropping this turn 1 on the play, but you're just wasting mana on not developing your board.
I really like the instant-speed double regrowth. Giving a random card to get back your two bombs that were killed in early game is pretty good.

On the one hand, it's probably not a great use of your mana turn after turn. On the other hand, this is a Scorch Spitter with an extra toughness that doesn't hit planeswalkers and triggers off other copies of itself, which sounds fine to me. It's not the new Kumano Faces Kakkazan, but I would not be that surprised if it gets played in standard RDW.
