The official Bloomburrow spoiler season starts in a bit over 40 minutes after this thread goes up. As always, this thread will be updated as new cards are shown.
So Valiant is updated Heroic, that ticks off a MaRo teaser.
Idk if this was addressed in the video, but it looks like another language update is coming too and we'll be talking about "first" and "second" main phases instead of "precombat" and "postcombat" ones.
Well this sure is a lots-of-text set. Every single card is super wordy.
For so many cards, my reaction is "on that's neat, no oh wait...". For example the bird-matter creature that puts counter on non-birds. Fineas that pump your other creature on attack but is only a 2/2 so easily killable with blockers. The food ward that turns every creature into food: so, ward sac-a-creature, except you can sac a food if you got one around.) Foraging vs Threshold. They're all fine, it's just an accumulation of awkwardness.
That being said Season of weaving looks strong and an instant Commander staple.
PS: Ygra seems super bad. No ebvasion and you're giving your opponent life if they need to survive. (Chump, sac for 3 three life. Sure Ygra gets bigger, but if you're in chump mode, might as well get some life.)
I mean, Ygra turns every other creature into an artifact. That turns every Naturalize into a Doom Blade, at minimum, let alone the goofy stuff you can do with stuff like Hellkite Tyrant or Dockside Extortionist.

I don't think it's a language update for the "postcombat" to "second" switch - you can end up with several postcombat main phases in a single turn thanks to certain cards. (See https://blogs.magicjudges.org/rules/cr505/ for more details.)
In the meantime, Osteomancer Adept looks like the strongest card in the set for Modern so far, even though it can't immediately reanimate. I already got a sick turn in testing where this guy reanimated Imperial Recruiter and Accursed Marauder in a single turn and wiped out everything that mattered on my opponent's side.

Except Fell, which between the name, card type and rules text, has five words. Stormcatch Mentor, Pond Prophet, Shrke Force and Hop To It are pretty short, while even Maha and Moonrise Cleric are pretty simple.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

I assume they are intending to switch to abilities calling out "first" and "second" on new cards. I agree that there is a technical difference and errata is unlikely.

24 out of 25 cards in this thread are wordy. In the Clement thread 5 or 6 out of 6 are wordy. Yay, you've found a few from outside the thread that aren't.

if I may ask will this effect the reconnaissance and ninjutsu like tricks?
and as for adept. I don’t know I already know your comparing to underworld breach/yawgmoth's will, but that’s a creature and they are very easy to shoot, plus this one has restricts to creatures and likely you need graveyard filled or food token generations. But what do I know since I don't play modern.

Magic players are known to be pedantic, since the game requires us to know layers... So when in this thread alone as you point out, there's a single card that's not wordy, then not every single card is wordy. A majority? Yes. That's probably right. But as of the post, there's 18 commons spoiled out of 81, barely a fifth. If we use Frazzled Editor's standard (Something is wordy if it has four or more lines of rules text.) 10 of those 18 are wordy. I think that's slightly unfair because Might of the Meek's fourth line is "Draw a card", Seedpod Squire's is "Flying", Early Winter is a modal card and without reminder text, Junkblade Bruiser wouldn't hit four. I expect wordiness to go up as rarity increases, and wasn't disappointed. 4 of the 23 spoiled uncommons were not wordy (with Stormcatch Mentor and Wandertale Mentor being a 5th and 6th due to reminder text for prowess and expend). Rares has only the Showcase version of Tender Wildguide (reminder text for Offspring is cut) out of 19. Mythic has none of 10 since Maha's ward is on a separate line
Is it just me, or should cards like Muerra and Fireglass Mentor have "Each turn" in their text box as well? I could see "At the beginning of your first Main Phase" being misconstrued, especially by newer players, to mean "first main phase of the game" as opposed to "First Main Phase of each turn".
I feel like I'm being pedantic, but that wording REALLY bugs me.

On the one hand, yes, on the other hand an explicit goal with the new wording is to use less text...

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

Lilysplash Mentor produces infinite ETB with Morselhoarder-- oops, misread -1/-1 as +1/+1. Not really any good substitutes.Kinda want Three Tree City for my Eldrazi deck, because of the tokens.
