Starting with Duskmourn, House of Horror are the new Japan Showcase cards. These are around 10 cards per set, done in a style seen in Japanese hobby stores, and with art from Japanese artists. The perks of having actual competition in your industry is you get more stuff like this. These will appear in Collector Boosters, with non-Japanese boosters having a 66% chance to get this in English, and a 33% chance to get it in Japanese.
So now, Duskmorne. These two are part of their own cycles. The source has the art for some of the other cards from these two cycles. Now we know Duskmourn has an enchantment theme, and noncreature land tokens.
Idk if they've shared what impending does, but here's my prediction.
Impending X - {Cost} (You may cast this spell for its impending cost. If you do, it enters with X impending counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove an impending counter from it. As long as it has an impending counter on it, it isn't a creature.)
I think this would be a pretty flavorful twist/rework of suspend, which was a mechanic that already left opponents in suspense. (Ha, get it?)
I think it'd be really thematic, since the flavor of it would be similar to lots of horror movie entities, i.e. "We know it's already here, we can see it and feel its presence, it just hasn't physically manifested yet."
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
So weird seeing Duskmourn, we aren't even through Bloomburrow.
to explain basically Japan was too excited and wanted to show these off one day esrly and they said we get to look again tomorrow.
Anyway
so Duskmourn is plane/set number three with enchantment creatures, and with the “enduring cycle” probably same ruling as the theros gods with cast triggers and zones. And it a duzy since it’s basically another sanguine bond? effect on a creature. And what the heck is a “glimmer” creature?
And impending mechanic from the number probably an alt cost similar to suspend maybe facedown for horror theme of somethings coming and people are scared to see what it is. Though that card obviously a mega upgrade for the Omo, Queen of Vesuva heck maybe 5 color decks all together since we’re making a single land with all five basic land types.
Oh here’s other arts
the black or red member of the “overlord”
and the white/blue/red members of the enduring cycle

Glimmer is likely an enchantment subtype rather than a creature type.
Which probably means it carries a bit of rules baggage. Personally, I'd rather they stop doing that and be more like creature types. Case, Class, Saga, and Aura (4/11) have rules associated with them. Exactly 0 out of 299 creature types have rules baggage. Mounts? No, creatively they have Saddle, but it's not intrinsic to the type. Walls? Again, defender was created to move away from creature types with baggage. End rant. Sorry.

Oooohhh yeah. Given the enchantment creature part, I reckon this is pretty much exactly what it does.
EDIT: A face-down in exile or something version would also make sense, but the alignment of the mechanic parts here with an enchantment version seems too perfect...

If they do this, I really hope its scream counters like All Hallow's Eve

My guess for Impending is that it's an Evoke/Suspend combo, where you cast it for it's Impending cost and get its ETB, but then exile it for N turns (probably tracked with time counters) before you get the actual creature.
I wonder how it be tracked what the snake is at particular moment, whether a creature or an enchantment. Could be a pain.
That should be relatively simple unless youmix your noncreature permanents (that aren't attached to creatures) with your creatures. Even before Magic Online and Arena I had a habit of keeping unattached permanents that aren't able to enter combat separately to the side. It worked fine for Lurking Jackals and Hidden Ancients.
So weird seeing Duskmourn, we aren't even through Bloomburrow.
Seeing a snake and the staircase(?) in the background looking deceptively like some trees or brush I was not even aware. Some glowing snake would not even contradict the concept of the world - just a magically charged, probably sapient animal. Even the subtype Glimmer would fit the whimsical theme.
It's interesting - and definitely setting the horror concept mechanically apart from Innistrad - that Duskmourn has an enchantment theme. I can imagine that they came from a top-down place where they had suspend (for the suspense) and creatures turning into enchanmtents (as an "undying" threat/variant) and brought those two together. (though the suspend variant is speculation r/n)

My guess: Glimmer is a creature type associated with enchantment creatures the same way Construct/Golem/Thopter is associated with artifact creatures.
Also I see no reason to assume rules baggage. The rules text on the card is entirely functional and makes for a full card concept. They probably just want to have cards that refer to Glimmer specifically the same way cards refer to Mounts specifically in OTJ.
BTW: The type Case AFAICT has no associated rules baggage. The Case frame itself doesn't even have additional rules meaning (according to the rules) the way it is for Saga or Class.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

I agree with you on keeping things separated won't be hard. My spread has always been creatures (regular, enchantment, artifact or even Planeswalker at the top), anything else that produces mana at the bottom (lands, enchantments and rocks) and then anything that doesn't fit those categories between. Vehicles live there until crewed, so that's what would happen with this snake.
As I've thought about it, I can see it go either way. I like Construct idea. My thinking is that the word glimmer in real life functions in two ways as a noun. You've got a visual glimmer that actually exists, like a construct and you have a metaphorical glimmer (of hope), which would be akin to an aura.
I had to look up the rules yesterday when I was looking at enchantment types with rules (I left the predefined shard token off because predefined creature tokens are a thing), Cases have rules baggage associated with what the To Solve and Solved sections mean. Surprisingly, I also left Roles off, thinking they were just Auras. But they also have baggage associated with saccing a Role when there's more than one on a creature, bringing it up to 5/11 that have baggage

Thats bottom up design, top down is when they design around flavor and feeling first.
From the planeswalker guide is looks like Glimmers are creature types to represent "glimmers of hope" that manifest on the plane.

I have an elegant idea. when is not a creature, turn it upside down so you will not see his stats and recognize is in a different mdoe.
