Question: in limited, are you allowed to add as many basic waste to your deck as you want? By that I mean, waste that you don't have in your card pool, like forest, etc?

I assume you can put as many as you want since it's a basic land type

i don’t think so. In oath of the gate watch and modern horizons, you needed to draft wastes and snow lands.

That makes eldrazi much worse in limited, if you need to pick your colorless sources from your pool.

Directly out of the rules the clarification:
"In Limited events (including Sealed Deck and Booster Draft), Wastes must be in your card pool to be included in your deck. You can’t add Wastes to your card pool in the same way that you can add other basic lands. (2021-03-19)"

I hope they revise that rule, otherwise it could lead to feel-bad moments at the pre-release where you get awesome Eldrazi but not have colorless sources in your pool. Getting color-screwed in games always feel bad. Getting color (-less) screwed at deck-building time is worse.

They won't. The colorless basic from this set is an uncommon Snow-Covered Wastes, which they (based on the rarity) clearly don't intend to be too available. Plus, it's a pain when running drafts to have to keep extra basics just for this format.

I would be surprised if there weren’t ways to produce colorless. There is probably be a reasonable amount of cards that generate colorless mana. It may focus on cards that create eldrazi spawns or scions, or a cycle of common lands that generate colorless. See oath of the gate watch set for reference.
