Next up, Modern Horizons 3, now with double-faced cards.
To that end, we'll be getting some Origins-style legends-to-planeswalker DFCs. So far we only have Ajani and Tamiyo confirmed. However, no one's reading this because the first cards shown off are the dual land cycle of the set: the ally-color fetches. And yes, they come in borderless and retro frame art too.
Okay, better? Good. Here's Ajani.
Modern Horizons allows its designers to use designs deemed to strong for Standard. For example, Energy apparently.
Have a full-art basic land cycle. Looks a bit off though...
There's also colorless mana-matters.
Yes, I can hear asking for a titan. So can she. Emrakul returns, with borderless concept art and foil etched frame treatments on top of everything else. The other two will also have the concept art frame and serialized versions of said frame.
As with all Modern Horizons sets, we have references and the odd free spell cycle. Also featured here is the frame break borderless frame treatment from Commander Masters.
And finally, the usual new-to-Modern reprints. Laelia also gets to show off the borderless profile frame.
For more details, such as important dates, see here.
EDIT: Updated to include information from the First Look article.
I really like to see dual land cycles representing a wide array of different planes. Consequently I actually would have preferred the alternate (borderless) illustration to be a different plane than the main set/retro frame illustration.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
So, is there any particular reason why Emrakul's madness cost is spelt out "Pay six " instead of "Madness ?
Theyve said that costs with large numbers of the same symbols (mana, energy, etc) are going to be written like this as the string of more than 4-5 symbols can be hard to parse and players tend to have to keep recounting them.
Another Eldrazi precon this time 5 color :/ how exciting. Creative Energie has the font colored as Jeskai but the mana pips of Jund... Is a pass theme-wise for me.
The energy commander isn't temur...... wizards.... come the **** on.... You had one ******* job.... Why are you like this??
5 colour eldrazi looks cool though
Although just occurred to me we literally got the zhulodok deck last year so we are already getting another eldrazi deck within one year. But this time they won’t make the stupid mistake with barely any eldrazi in the deck. (Mostly because the reprints will clearly consist of the BFZ and OGW eldrazi)
oh and to guess lore on this legend zhulodok was a famous brood of Ulamog, based on this one’s floaters, two arms connected just like eldrazi displacer, and eyes on the body, this legend is likely a famous brood from Kozilek, secondary prediction the side commander could be a famous brood of emrakul/already melded Brisela, voice of nightmares, or we finally get a commander playable Ugin, (again he knows how to do all 5-colors of magic even when he mostly does colorlesss.).
The face commander and the alternative commander in the eldrazi deck need to have a 5 color commander identity. So they most likely are colorless and have some kind of WUBRG effect or they have devoid and the color in the mana cost... Is more likely we get 2 new characters (with stupid names) but maybe... If the second legendary is from Emrakul it should be something transformed at least.
what the hell mean "protection from spells and permanents that were cast this turn"? is this a weird way to say the Emrakul can't be countered and got hexproof until the end of turn?

hence the brisela , voice of nightmares 2.0 possibility (but already transformed). But the famous Emrakul brood is like gonna look like a actual eldrazi and not a eldritch horror, (truthfully those horrendous forms were probably the baby form of emrakul brood then later their bodies evolve into a more eldrazi like body.)
most likely one will be devoid creatures with a WUBRG cost and the other will be colorless with a WUBRG activated/static/trigger abitlity

It's two separate protections.
Protection from spells stops it from being targeted by instants, sorceries, auras and creatures with mutate or dealt damage by instants and sorceries as they resolve. It can still be targeted by everything else and can be countered.

It also can't be damaged by damage based sweepers, and blocked by flash creatures.
i will still try to get the titans as soon as possible like with 1.0 and 2.0
but i can tell you they are really really trying hard to make the titans not so back breaking this time. even though stealing a entire players creatures on board is scary.
plus they actually threw in a monsterous drawback even the protection makes it really hard to get rid her. is that she wraths your own board when she leaves (heck its in sacrifice so not even indestructible survive) so all you need is a mistmeadow witch and flick it after the turn is over it came in.

First off the screwed up the jund mistake again but even worse it’s on the sultai deck as well and it’s censoring the simic color.
secondly
Introducing 15 never-before-seen cards in each deck, these mighty 100-card decks come ready to defeat your opponents right out of the box
were getting 5 more new cards than the usual 10
wow the 5-color (6-color if you include C) eldrazi deck could be potentially even more back breaking to make devoid eldrazi eons more reliable (I know one factor will be more white devoid eldrazi than just eldrazi displacer.)

I understand that with that wording Emrakul is basically protected only by instants or permanents with flash and only in the turn you cast Emrakul...and that's it. Pretty sucky protection if thats the corrected interpretation.
How is Emrakul protected from "sorceries, auras, creatures with mutate, oblivion ring or spiteful banditry", unless you give flash of them with a Leyline of Anticipation or whatever? Or without giving flash to Emrakul, since you normally cast him only at sorcery speed in your turn?

Touch the Spirit Realm can blink it no problem too, but also, Soul Shatter and other hexproof-dodging removal spells work fine.
....or just wait the the Emmy player simply pass the turn and then you have all the time you want to Terror him? I mean it doesn't even give haste to the creatures it steals, you really have not to worry no matter in what turn they cast Emmy if you have any kind of removal ready.....

No, Emrakul is protected from spells and from permanents that were cast in the current turn, not the turn Emrakul was cast. Any spell cannot target or damage Emrakul (still can be countered though because protection isn’t applicable on the stack) and permanents cannot interact with her on the turn they were cast either.
so for example
- You cannot exile her with Solitude’s etb effect if you just cast it, but you can if you flicker the Solitude or reanimate it.
- You cannot flash in a creature to block her during combat.
-You can cast a universal solvent on one turn and use it to exile her on a later turn, but not that turn, regardless when Emrakul was cast.
