Our next Universes Beyond release is with the upcoming November Sercretversary Superdrop. Presenting - Lara Croft, Tomb Raider. Lara herself is the only mechanically unique card of the set. The rest are reskins, including our first DFC reskinned for Universe Beyond (and not Universes Within like Havengul Laboratory: Search for Azcanta.
If the lands and artifacts it targets didn't have to be legendary, that Lara Croft card would be a very fun and powerful commander. Basically it's just body with first strike and reach that makes you 1 treasure at the end of your turn since it can only legendaries.

Right, it's any graveyard. But you'll almost never have any targets.
Interesting design, very reminiscent of Nashi, Moon's Legacy but with enough interesting twists to make it fresh. The "Artifacts and Lands" restriction is both a flavorful rendition of Lara Croft (tombs and treasures are her specialty, not monkeys) as well as a great way to carve a niche for her where neither feels like a strict upgrade over the other (Nashi's keywords are way better for his purpose, Lara gets very useful Treasure generation; Nashi gets to reanimate any Legendary nonland, Lara can "store" targets for later and recast the same legend multiple times; Nashi can target Rats, Lara can target other graveyards and so on...).
As for the Godzilla Treatment cards, Totec's Spear / Shadowspear is a really good reprint and will probably be worth big bucks, meanwhile I will definitely want Storm of Yamatai for flavor reasons.
If I wanted to run her as a Commander, I think my first inclination would be to try a sort-of Voltron deck. There's a lot of good, low-cost, Legendary Equipment out there, especially if you have no objections to LotR cards. Also, the threeon-colorGod Weapons from Theros, and a few other tidbits. Throw in some sac outlets in case someone rudely tries to exile your Umezawa's Jitte instead of destroying it like a civilized human being, a curated selection of Legendary Lands (but not too many, since you're running three colors, and there are precisely zero Legendary Lands that can reliably provide multiple colors early on) and an assortment of filtering/looting/milling effects to stock your yard (no shortage of those in GUR), and you've got what seems like a reasonable starting point.
Edit: Actually, maybe even "sort-of Voltron" is overstating it. I'm more thinking using her as a value engine to augment a creature-based strategy. She'd still end up carrying equipment reasonably often, if only to make sure she could attack safely, but the focus wouldn't be on necessarily killing with Commander damage. Also note that stuff like Akroma's Memorial and Bosh, Iron Golem can come down ahead of schedule when you're getting a Treasure whenever you attack.
This seems alright and more likely to pull from your graveyard rather than others as I don't know how many legendary lands/artifacts many play to take advantage of. What is a shame is that there isn't a polygon version of this as that's the most famous version of Lara, that would have been rather neat.
With that said I can only roll my eyes at a third UB in a row with Dr. Who just before, Jurassic Park during, and this after and with LotR having warped Modern really hard and people's wallets with a massive golden ticket campaign being that set's only selling point is that I'm just tired. I'm tired of the constant push of UB.

yes, mtg turned into billboard with ads for other ips. unfortunatelly mtg characters are spread so thinly that they would be unrecognizable when brought into other ips so this works only one way.

They missed an opportunity when they didn't make a Beatles secret lair given their last song was released two weeks ago. We missed out on mechanics like "The fab four" if you have all four on the battlefield. The legendary land cycle featuring "The carvern club", "Strawberry fields" and "Pepperland". Legendary artifact equipement "Höfner bass" and "Maxwell's silver hammer". Also the insanely over powered black legendary instant spell called "Wail of the banshee" depicting Yoko Ono screaming in the back while John and Chuck Berry are trying to play.
I would have bought that lol. Completely missed opportunity.

Whenever a character gets enough focus to have a chance to become recognizable there are complaints from the MtG community. It's not wrong. The planes, the multiverse are the real main character (at least nowadays), and that just might be best for MtG itself.
On the other hand not every UB product focuses on one main character. WH40K showed how "factions" can be imported into another game, so if another IP was interested, why not? There has been at least one non-MtG Jace card, too.
They also have successfully transported settings to D&D, so there is a working concept to bring an IP with a "world building"-focused identity to another.
I personally care about MtG the game system, so I cannot really say I see it as "unfortunate" if MtG crosses over only one way, but I'm also quiet certain that MtG could have some guest spots if they really cared about that.
