Ok who’s tempted to bring a bag of coins and toss them at targets whenever you cast flick the coin?
with Zada, Hedron Grinder might as well word it as “make a number of treasure tokens equal to the number of creatures you control.” Then Ink-Treader Nephilim it becomes “make a number of treasure equal to the number of creatures in play.” Finally with Radiate or Radiant Performer. You throw in planeswalkers, battles, and players with all the creatures.
No, don't hit Gunruud on the nose--hit those Orcish Bowmasters, then laugh as they fall down.
Not before they get one last trigger!
Seize the spoils at instant speed trades rummaging for one damage. It's probably not great.
Restless Spire is nice for being cheap enough to activate and leave mana up, but will be a little hard to actually hit with and is pretty useless on defense.
Is it crazy that Flick a Coin is my favorite card of the set so far?
I always liked Zap. It has a funny name, funny flavor text, and bizarre art; it's pretty weak overall but it's nice and elegant, and I'm glad it exists. It's been a part of my bad card cube since 2011, and because it's one of the shortest card names in the game, I use it as the ID for cube cobra.
Since then we've gotten Blindblast and Neonate's Rush, which did little to improve upon the original. But making a treasure is pretty big. My favorite part is you can immediately drop that coin into the slot to pay for You Are Already Dead, which lends itself to pretty funny imagery. Somehow you toss a coin at someone and cleanly cut them in half?
My only gripe with Flick a Coin is I might have preferred a different flavoring. Not having anything to do with coin flips is kind of strange.
Awkward name, I know it's supposed to sound like flip a coin, but I wish it was just Coinflick. Also the person in the art does not look like they are winding up a finger to flick a coin at all. She'd be making something like the A-OK sign with her hand. Other than that, if you can kill something with this card, that's pretty good value.
