whoof, ward 2 and your little spiders get deathtouch? 8/8???? Plus you turn creatures into tokens and they don't lose their abilities so you could bite your way to nabbing some cool stuff.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Goodbye Ishkanah, Grafwidow for spider tribal commander and hello Shelob. ishkanah is defintely getting demoted to lieutenant (the 99) for spider tribal now
It’s like almost impossible to get through with shelob in play because almost every single spider in existence have reach (you need indestructible creatures to safely attack)
And you get to have food tokens disguised as the creatures you killed so you get the abilities/static abilities useable
Kinda like this. Too bad it's not a real card. Oh well.
Kinda think turning the creatures into food (and getting control of them in the process) instead of creating copies would have been cooler. Maybe they wanted this to not be too bad on enemy commanders?

Eh, if it said "Return it to the battlefield under your control as a food artifact" they'd avoid that since it gives them a chance to put it in the command zone. Could be this phrasing was specifically to allow it to work with commanders.
Also, if just the name was changed, I'd have no trouble believing this was some spider in Jund.

what do you mean that is not a real card?
The person is a petitioner to stop unverise beyond unless I’m mistaken
basically Refuses to play with UB cards
You have to admit though that it will be awkward when you sit down for a Commander game which turns out to be: Frodo vs Optimus Prime vs Negan vs Ryu vs Post Malone. Hilarious as that is, there should almost be a rule at sanctioned events where at least one Commander in each game has to be an authentic character from Magic The Gathering lore, if for no other reason than the sake of tradition.

We could also simply call it "Doesn't like and want to play with UB."
Refusing sounds like it is mandatory. No need for dishonest phrasing, thank you.
I guess that is "refusing," but that's not a bad thing. You're allowed to not like a thing and play with them. What I find humorous is that poster outing people that are against UB as though it's a bad thing.
Oh man, this Shelob RULES. They knocked it out of the park. Suddenly all those Giant Spiders are much more menacing, finally getting to be the Mirkwood spiders they were partially modeled after to begin with. Love it.
Would Shelob crawl out of Mordor to take Ishkanah's role as the main Spider tribal legend? No worries, Ishkanah wouldn't be eaten... immediately.

I saw Arachnophobia at a drive-in theater as a youngin'. Definitely one of the more formative memories of my youth.
This card is just terrific, so much flavor captured with innovative mechanics.

No, it is a real card! It'll be available in print later this month.

It's certainly quirky but how is it awkward?

This is why I only play commander with cards released in alpha. Beta? unlimited? piss off. No sleeves, pile shuffle, ante up or gtfo.
Indeed, suddenly now there's decent cards in this. Guess we'll have to wait for actual Magic cards to see print.
We could also simply call it "Doesn't like and want to play with UB."

Sixty-card decks? Only four copies of a card?? Bah! Twenty Black Lotuses and twenty Plague Rats! That's real Magic!
You won't even play with a Beta volcanic island in a blue red deck?
That's so purist and hardcore!
I'd love to see your deck lists, lol
