I'm preeeeetty sure it's a retcon because her original blurb talked about "two warring tribes polluting the river" and her being blessed by the "god of nature" and her tribe wanting her to lead them. All of which doesn't mesh very well with what we know about Amonkhet.

Oh it is referencing the Luxa River as in Bounty of the Luxa, now that makes sense.
It doesn't sound like something that could happen during the time frame of Amonkhet we are aware of - no "warring tribes", no "god of nature" (as such, potentially one repurposed)... but that could also mean an interesting view into the distant past of Amonkhet (now, if not originally intended). Though that wouldn't mesh well with Imoti being around for the invasion.
