So this is yet another card that won't prevent people from casting Brainstorm in Legacy, but it sure as heck will take advantage of Brainstorm being cast.
Seeing a normal human face on a faerie is a little odd. Good card though.
I've found most of the world champ and invitational cards to look a little off. I think it's A) modern haircuts and B) careful posing for maximum recognition of facial features.
The cards tour winners create really show the timmy in them.
The Worlds winners haven't made any of these cards since PVDDR and Elite Spellbinder. They just get shown cards and pick which one has their face on it.
Nothing screams "mastermind" more than a guy doing a cool action maneuver
I was actually thinking the same. I don't understand the card's flavour at all.
Unless the flavour is supposed to be like "this war is so serious even people who would normally direct things from behind the shadows are now fighting on the frontlines". In which case it's still a fail. At least show us characters we've never seen in "action", like Teysa. This is just a regular faerie rogue (it's even a rogue instead of a wizard or advisor) with a mismatching name slapped on it.
At long last, Yuta Takahashi gets his card to comemorate his World Championship victory.

Elspeth and Jhoira rock my world.

Magic players look like... people who play Magic do.
Their selection could still suggest the same.
