I have thought for a while that an alliance between Kaladesh tech and Ixalan dino’s might be the thing that stops the Phyrexians since Wizards has the Huatli/Saheeli thing going. But we’ll see. It’s obvious they get (temporarily) defeated somehow even though I still don’t see how Wizards will get out of this mess without either time travel or killing half of the starting lineup of planeswalkers…

Remind me of how many Planeswalkers and heros/named characters had to die the first time around? This is the level of threat that The Phyrexians should be. They should be The™ threat to everything within Magic. Not Bolas. Not the Eldrazi. The Phyrexians.

I think 7 planeswalkers (1 villainous), though some were both introduced and killed off during the Invasion story arc and at least 6 heroes (Gerrard, Lin-Sivvi, Eladamri, Hanna, Barrin, Ertai). If you want to count people who died in Weatherlight and Masques block, it's more. Currently, at least 8 planeswalkers are compleated, 2 have died or apparently died, 1 is sitting on a platform in bits, but still functioning. Slobad's the only non-walker that I can think of off the top of my head.

The Drazi should honestly pose a much higher level threat than they do to be fair. Phyrexians want to take over reality, Eldrazi reside inside the space between reality and could probably unravel it if inclined.
You are right though that Phyrexians needed to be more of a threat than Bolas, because he is literally just a dragon mustache twirler as opposed to an inexorable plague that consumes and converts all.

Despite my love and desire for the Phyrexians to be the 'ultimate' villains of Magic throughout the storytelling of the game's history, this analysis of both the Eldrazi and Bolas is pretty accurate.

The Eldrazi *should* pose a much higher level of threat, but they don't. The Eldrazi are seeming more of environmental antagonists than villianous threats. They just want to feed from everything that I can tell. Yes, in the process of eating a plane dies and they can warp reality, but there isn't any malice behind it. I truly don't think that Ulamog and Kozilek should have fallen so easily to the Brady Walkers like they did.
The Phyrexians are out to make everything just like them. Every world brought slowly to its knees and made into one. Not that long ago the Phyrexian couldn't compleat Brady Walkers, but they have found away to bring them to heel.
At one point in time I thought that the Eldrazi were going to be the way that WOTC were going to handle the Phyrexians. With their story choices, not so much anymore.

I did want to clarify this point as well, but was too lazy being on mobile; they are a more potent threat in terms of capability, but they aren't inherently malicious, as you describe.

Original Phyrexia was Yawgmoth, which was basically a mad scientist mustache twirler

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Wizards seem absolutely horrified of making any new Eldrazi cards. I still could be a possibility they go with the "unleash Emrakul on Phyrexians", but I think Wizards will do almost anything to avoid new Eldrazi. I hope to see more Eldrazi, I like them.

pretty typical but where the real interest comes is not just the angel wing it’s this
now it looks like a typical dinosaur but you look on further inspection
1. The spikes on nose tip.
2. Stripes on sides
3. The things on the jaw line
4. You notice the skin is actually green
you Realize it’s this big girl
so ixalan is infact a hit for “March of the machines” set.
(I don't care if Jace or Vraska or Ajani gets murder-infected, but don't you DARE touch Huatli)
We already have compleated red/white, red/green and green/white walkers, so she's probably safe.
