So first we had affinity, and now flashback. What's up with that?
Eternal world, I guess.
Really starting to look like corrupted Golgari might be good in standard. We're getting toxic tacked onto things for basically free and those three poison counters get you better Call of the Herd and some of the best single target removal you'll ever see in standard (in Anoint with Affliction).
Flashback isn't surprising, MaRo has confirmed it is now deciduous and it was a relatively obvious choice for that with their recent expansion of what they are willing to make deciduous. Affinity is strange though given it's not a listed mechanic for the set, not confirmed to be deciduous and an unusual choice for a mechanic to be deciduous.
Affinity is [...] an unusual choice for a mechanic to be deciduous.
I don't think it's that unusual. It's mostly an issue with entirely generic costs and in large amounts. The way they might use it as a deciduous mechanic for a "tribe"/subtype to make a cycle or individual card work would be fine. You get some every now and then, e. g. Argivian Phalanx, Gate Colossus, Angelic Observer, Reality Heist, Sky-Blessed Samurai, Walking Skysraper. The main issue with it, is that it doesn't work (with the current rules - modifications are in the realm of the possible) with card designs like Overwhelming Remorse or Tolarian Terror.
I think deciduous is a perfect place for affinity, since I'd rather see a handful of cards with it every now and then than another attempt at making it an actual set mechanic.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

It's true you do get virtual affinity cards not rarely. I don't know if it would be doing very much good being a keyword though. WotC may be expanding how many and what kind of mechanics they want to be deciduous, but there's still a cost to doing semi-regular inclusions with a mechanic and making it a part of the things players are encouraged to learn and memorize. Flashback provides a very useful effect that is also I think easier to do if you call it flashback and get players to learn, esp including cards that grant flashback. Meanwhile, I think affinity equivalent cards are pretty short and elegant to read, and as you note, there are variants outside of what currently works with affinity, and even if you changed the rules, I think you would end up with a number of affinity cards with fairly long keywords 'affinity for creature cards in your graveyard' and 'affinity for creatures with power 4 or greater'. I don't think affinity would pull its weight as well. But, idk, maybe it's enough.
okay so you make a beast with toxic one is good
lets See corrupted it gets fl………WAIT!?!? FLASHBACK IS NOT A MECHANIC!
maro does this mean flashback is now deciduous?

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."

Elspeth and Jhoira rock my world.
Looks like that was added yesterday, probably because of MaRo's post about it.
