Jumpstart 2022 preview season is on November 22-23. Until then, here's an anime Karn Liberated. The Urza's pack is mainly colorless, running entirely on Tron lands, and also features a Walking Ballista.

My favourite urza lands artwork are the original ones and those old school double master ones, but these are very cool too.
Will all the packs have the anime Karn art? or is it like that monkey fella' with two different arts?
I think I've learned to treat Magic cards like baseball cards: keep 'em in a binder in numerical order, don't play with 'em, try to finish the set and just keep my head down.

Problem is how many crappy Jumpstart packs do I have to buy before I get the Urza one? I wish you could pick the ones you want. This one has monetary value in Spades!

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Flavor fail, but I guess they just really wanted it to have the mana-producing ability and due reduce complexity/word count they didn't want to have the separate sac-for-life ability that all food types must have. Card is already complex enough as it is.
Anyone just a little exhausted seeing all this when Brother's war prerelease is literally today?

Food is not required to have a separate sac-for-life ability. In fact there is nothing in the rules that requires any kind of ability. And from a less strict "should have" perspective all the token "should have" is any kind of related ability... which the Banana already has. The Banana already sacrifices for life, it just also adds mana.
So in summary, the subtype Food was entirely an available option and not any more of an issue than e. g. Glittering Stockpile. I'd have preferred it, but as it's also a named token already that could add to the confusion in their mind.

I forgot about the stockpile. I realized it was not a requirement of the rules that all food have the same sac for 2 ability, just thought it was likely an intentional design choice/self-imposed constraint. It does help reduce complexity if all food-type artifacts have the same ability.
The rules dont specify if a different token that is also a Food/Clue etc would still count as a predefined token.
I belive because of 111.10 "The effect that creates a predefined token may also modify or add to the predefined characteristics." Means that if Bananas were Food they would need to say that you couldn't sacrifice it for life.
