How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Love this card all around, even if it breaks a "fixed" Domain version I came up with a while ago (I call it Terrain and it counts the number of land types among basic lands you control, as opposed to basic land types among lands you control.
Subtle nerf, and one that I was sure would never reach a higher count than Domain could. So much for that...'^^)
Edit: Yes, I know I can re-fix Terrain by making it count basic land types among basic lands you control, instead of land types among basic lands you control.
I saw it's a mythic that is not a face commander (has that ever happened before?) and wondered what the hell could warrant THAT (not that it matters, you'll get one guaranteed in the deck it comes in...).
THAT warrants THAT.
I think this is the first card in a LONG time where the power just blasted me in the face. No questions, unadulterated, sickening POWER.
EDIT: A thanks down below explaining how it can be mythic. So, yeah, it will be a lot harder to get!!!
I do not think this is quite as nuts as people are saying here. It's on a creature, which is historically the worst place for a static ability like this and it has an upfront cost of 4 mana. Scapeshift this is not.

That was my first thought too. If you have to get this 4 mana creature out first before you get to turn your cultivate into double sylvan scrying, I don't really feel like you're popping off.
Still, this is a very unique ability, and it opens up some neat space. Also just randomly protects you from some of your opponent's landkill/hosers to that's a plus.
edited to add: it annoys me that they are making these interesting commander cards and putting them only in as mythics in certain packs (and not the regular packs one would buy when drafting). I'm aware a singles market exists, but the artificial scarcity created by this decision is just a little frustrating.
but surely having the basic super type doesn't mean that the lands have all the subtypes i.e plains, island, swamp, mountain and forest...?! They are just basic lands like Wastes right?

However, it strengthens anything that searches for only basic lands. It protects you from all nonbasic land hate. And of course there are a ton of other combos.

Correct. It means that anything that refers to Basic lands affects all of your lands, and that things that refer to nonbasics don't. Nothing more.
So how long will this card stay legal in modern before it gets banned for enabling stupid valakut and/or tron stuff?
I don't think this card will ever get banned from Modern. It's already hard enough work getting to 6 lands period to enable Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle (even with Dryad of the Ilysian Grove also in play so you don't have to worry about your actual Mountain count). Making basic land search tutor for Valakut won't really make the job easier.
Current Tron decks already just use generalized land search that costs 1-3 mana (Expedition Map, Sylvan Scrying). We're already landing the 7-mana Karn Liberated on Turn 3 with some consistency and we're still not winning large tournaments. (Top 16-32 isn't bad, though!)
I was more thinking of the line of play pay 4 negate all non basic land hate
It's still a 4-mana creature (so Boseiju, Who Endures, Field of Ruin, Obsidian Charmaw, etc. can still snipe a land fast enough). It'll probably be more useful for Valakut and Leyline Binding decks as a result (because Green Tron just pulls its own Boseiju, Who Endures out to deal with Blood Moon), but its only upside being that Sakura-Tribe Elder and Search For Tomorrow now tutor for any land you want if you don't run into nonbasic land hate actually seems a bit weak.
I guess Amulet Titan might actually want Rootpath Purifier since it can Summoner's Pact for it.
No matter what, though, I still think the part where you have to find this guy in your deck, pay 4 mana, and pray it doesn't die to Unholy Heat already won't make it a broken anti-hate card.

….what in the world?!
this… this might be the chase card period it makes every single rampant growth, explosive vegetation and evolving wilds variant in existence into a Golos, Tireless Pilgrim ETB effect
and for a cherry on top that shuts down Blood moon, Wasteland, Archon of Emeria, and Back to Basics effects

Like, that is all, really.

It’s a commander card in the set boosters. Not modern legal.
So, 2 cards, 7 mana, Hour of Promise?

Best thing I could think of was looping Prismatic Vista and Fabled Passage repeatedly for landfall triggers.
