Hmm, seems there could be more than one plant showing up in this thread.
Lends creedance to my theory doesn't it.
Yes, Alex Jones, it's all a charade. There are no real Magic players on here, just a bunch of people Wizards pays to cover up their sinister self-leaking plots in front of the tiny fraction of the playerbase that actually reads this forum.
Definitely not final cards. The collectors numbers are missing the total count, unless this will change somewhat of course.
These are showcase frame cards, part of the "extended" set, they do nt feature the total number of cards. I think this have been the case since the beginning (Throne of Eldraine).
I didn’t notice this for showcase cards. Thanks for pointing this out.
So… these look fairly authentic as it’s new art, a new foiling and art style, and the cards shown aren’t too exciting (whereas most people trying to pass off total fakes wouldn’t put in this much time and energy unless making something that looks exciting and powerful like that fake Sheoldred not long ago). The pictures are also fairly clear by leak standards (and blurry images are easily used to hide mistakes).
As to whether it’s a leak or a “leak”… I don’t think we’ve ever had evidence of a purposeful “leak” before. I can buy the excuse of wanting something to distract from bad 30th anniversary PR but we saw a whole motherload of secret lairs in the same week so wizards already had some shiny keys to jingle in front of our face. I understand people saying that it must be a genuine leak as the cards aren’t exciting and they could show off cool cards from Brother’s War… but I would also understand if Wizards wants to control the flow of information on this highly anticipated set (using a new Mox or other attractive mythic as a concerted marketing push rather than an emergency distraction) and instead release low-impact spoilers for a future set as we are known to fixate on unknown mechanics (I remember people speculating for weeks regarding how Waste would work, what eternalize would work after seeing adorned pounder, and so forth).
GotC is 100% on the up and up. No plants here. Tinfoil, blah blah blah. Shut up and do as you are told and achieve bliss.

Hyperbole much? Do you know me? Do you think I am "woke" from my quotes below? Judge not lest ye be judged yourself.
I admit I may be wrong, there is that possibility. The important question is then "Could YOU be wrong?" Answer that question and we will see your position and if we have any common ground or not.

The fact you think wizards would intentionally leak anything at all is preposterous. They cracked down on the dude who leaked the commander legends set, let alone other people who leaked a bunch of stuff.
So here me out... this'll be a simple question with what will most likely be a tough answer:
The person responsible for the leak got the cards from somewhere. Because these are round corners (an assumption here, if wrong, please explain why... and if you do, does this thought experiment still hold water), I am willing to bet these came from a pack of cards, possibly a Collector's Pack, as we can see the Phyrexian symbols as part of the hologram background on most the cards in the photos. That being seen, and we do know that there are 15 cards in the Collector's booster pack. With that info, we can assume there are about 9 more cards that are unseen, but within the vicinity of the card leaker.
So what are the reasons then to not show the rest of the cards? Is it to build suspense? Does the leaker like to emotionally/psychologically torment Magic players by showing the commons only? Are they being saved for a future leak/reveal? Or is the leaker actually part of WotC as a hype-man, purposely leaking cards to whip up a frenzy of interest?
Side note: all of the Phyrexian logos on the card really make the cards unattractive. It reminds me too much of fashion clothing that repeat their logo/name all over the clothing/accessories, such as the case with Gucci, Yves St. Loren, FUBU, etc... It's just really tacky and kitsch.

Some of the more credible recent leaks have been pulled out of the garbage of WotC's printers. Those were usually test cards that weren't shredded after inspection. That green card could probably be so damaged (think partially shredded or torn off while in the garbage) that it's not worth showing.
If anyone knows where I can get paid to spread mtg misinformation on the internet let me know, because I already do this by misreading the cards the first time 50% of the time
If the Toxic keyword works as (I think most) people believe (in that it's basically "when this creature deals combat damage to a player they get X poison counters" or similar), I think it will make draft a lot more enjoyable than New Phyrexia with the actual Infect mechanic.
I remember one of the problems with infect in draft was simply the fact that it's draft. You aren't going to be getting to draft nothing but infect creatures, meaning half of your creatures deal regular damage and half of them deal poison, so you end up with the "I've done 26 damage to my opponent this game, but it was 17 regular and 9 infect" that just felt awful. If all the creatures that give poison counters ALSO do regular damage when they hit players, I think it's a huge step up, at least in limited.
The fact you think wizards would intentionally leak anything at all is preposterous. They cracked down on the dude who leaked the commander legends set, let alone other people who leaked a bunch of stuff.
I have my answer. I admit I may be wrong, you do not. We have nothing more to discuss.
I'm a plant as well, btw. Not even going to hide it. But they don't pay me well, so I'm starting a union.
also, does it matter if an employee leaked them or not? Like, in any way?
Maybe you are maybe you aren't. But it does matter who leaked it and more importantly WHY it was leaked. Intentional leaks to distract from something negative isn't a sign of a healthy company or its view of its core clientele.
lol what is going on with this place

i'd like some proof before i believe an employee leaked this.
they're not so major reveals that they really distract from anything. they honestly got lost in the shuffle of spoiler bombardment too. we were on to the next thing like a day later. mtg:s is fairly slow since the mass exodus. this leak was barely a blip in other communities. i suppose what you're insinuating is that they leaked it to deflect from magic 30 controversies. it was such an inconsequential leak though, it revealed almost nothing that anyone cared about.

Yes I would also like some proof or potential truth about who leaked it. Without it my skepticism leads me to these places. I am proffering that it was an intentional leak to deflect attention from 30th anniversary proxy announcement which indeed was universally panned across the community. I admit I could be wrong. I personally give myself about a 50/50 chance of being correct.
For a company that claims it was going to crack down on these leaks YEARS ago, there sure seems to be a steady stream of them every few months. This is either a sign of an inept company not able to protect their intellectual property, a company filled with untrustworthy individuals or a company that does indeed dabble in corporate "espionage" or "counter-espionage" via leaked product. That GotC hasn't even addressed this last one publicly is fairly condemning as well. It may seem inconsequential to you but I see it indicative of a greater problem at this company and one that doesn't seem to go away.

this is demonstrably correct. I have two copies of enlightened tutor and they are indistinguishable to the naked eye. One isn't real. I'll never look close enough to notice the difference, and neither will anyone else. The simple solution is incompetence, and it is prudent to consider this the truth until faced with evidence to the contrary. You're a logical dude, you must be able to see this.

Sounds like something a PHYREXIAN would say...
Also, I definitely expected "PHY" for the set code.
A comic book artist, apparently.
They all look like black and white ink drawings, so comic book artists was probably a sensible place to look.
