A and B can suck a lot (e.g. all you have is Ulamog, they have only 1/1 Goblin creature tokens), so are you allowed to omit options you legally can cast when you call someone?
Hey, I'm going to a so-called limited tournament of that card game I like to play today. If I happen to call you and ask for you to choose options A to D, just choose D.
So, with it saying not to explain anything and the way rules for choosing modes work, I think you have to say all 4 regardless and casting fails if the person called chooses an invalid option. The question is, do you have to hang up and call them back to re-choose to try again?
Notably, this ultimately works out exactly the same as if you only listed legal choices, just after a potentially significant delay.
