The Swarmlord for warhammer 40k commander.
So Tyranids are 3 colour, Green, Blue and Red.
3GBR for a 5/5
Ability is Rapid Regeneration:
The Swarmlord enters the Battlefield with two (2) +1+1 counters on it for each time you've cast your commander from the command zone.
Xenos Cunning:
Whenever a creature you control with a counter on it dies, draw a card.
‐----------------‐
So interesting bits are that this does not have to be your commander to take effect.
Sounds like Nids will be all about the +1+1 counters and sac.
I don't like the exponential growth. Command tax is a tax, not something that should help you
However without keyword this is also extremely weak.
Maybe the tyranids will give abilities to each other kinda like slivers?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I don't like people who have no clue what exponential growth is. This is not even geometric. If he's your commander, gets destroyed and recast, he comes back with first +2/+2, then +4/+4, then +6/+6, etc. That's completely linear.
I admittedly know little about Warhammer, but would have thought Tyrannids would be Grixis.

And as you notice yourself, if it results only in size, the effect is not actually problematic.
I actually like this new wording that makes this also interesting in the 99.
I could see this card pointing to a counter sub-theme, so maybe ability counters as well? Interestingly this deck would share only one color with Symbiotic Swarm, the white-black-green ability counter deck.

Sorry if i wasn't completely mathematically accurate describing a game mechanic and a game philosophy
Yeah, they are the reason why i don't like it. Broken, unfun mechanic like almost everything that came out of 2013. At least this looks more tame but it's a *****ty design philosophy that should never return.

How are exactly Is it broken? The idea itself isn’t broken. It’s how wizards decides to use it that makes it broken. Prrossh is a perfect example that is broken, but that’s cause free bodies with every mana spent is in itself broken. This version of it seems perfectly reasonable.

Wanna also argue how dredge and storm are perfectly fine mechanics because moldervine cloak and ground rift exist?

I mean. They are perfectly fine mechanics. Just like phyrexian mana was perfectly fine on some cards, but not others. Once again, it’s how wizards decides to apply the effect. And also how wizards decides to enable them.
The difference is that a named mechanic needs a certain volume to justify being a named mechanic and you quickly run out of "save" dredge and storm designs if you want to fill a whole set. But conversely this is a commander. It can use the mechanic without pressure to re-use it anywhere else.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
I'm really disappointed. I was hoping nids would be an excuse for a new Sliver variant. This card doesn't even capture the flavor of The Swarmlord. Its featured abilities are just generic abilities that Tyranids can have.
It could be said that tyranids and eldrazi are similar, like the eldrazi of emrakul warp and change the people of a plane so do genestealer cults which pray and think that the tyranids are gods and when they are strong enough they will make an uprising and weaken the planet and make civil war. Further more tyranids are based on evolution and will grow and gain more abilities offer generations and time. And lastly tyranids consume the biomass of the attacked planet and their inhabitants, like the eldrazi consum the mana of a plane but tyranids do not profit from other tyranids dying it feels like Cannibalism, wotc should more approach the tyranids like the eldrazi and not a temur aristocracy
In a way, it's amazing. All these new Dominaria cards have just come out, with tons of new legendaries, and I feel myself going "you know, maybe I could build a Commander deck again..." But then I see these, and I instantly go "nope, I'm done with this."
These cards are nice for the people who like the franchise I guess.
The problem is that mostly every commander apart from abaddon is just a insult, like the official price is 50 euro but they charge for dominaria united commander decks with better cards just 37 euro. The worst thing is that they ghosted the fans for 3 months without spoiling anything or even saying anything. And the same is true for unfinity. It feels like they never cared about it at all
`I don't play or know much about Warhammer besides that it exists. If these don't have amazing reprints these will be the first commander decks I don't buy.

You seem to already know the cards in the 40K decks to proclaim them worse than the Dominaria decks. Please do enlighten us?

Till now we have just the commander cards but besides abaddon each commander is just low level, even if the swarmlord would make a interesting deck but it is flavorless like I already explained, for example the silent king really doesn't even look like a commander and the inquisitor could just be printed in an innestrad set. But fivecolor commander can create an 8/8 in two turns and the mardu commander can give indestructible and steel creatures, so i consider them stronger than those three. But then why should someone buy a warhammer 40k deck that isn't grixis, it just feels like a scam or like wotc just came up with some good cards and thats why they never spoiled the other three on the official way.

...or are you the source?!?

You lost that battle with Marath, Will of the Wild, Prossh, Skyraider of Kher, Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge etc. but also, yes, this is linear growth, polynomial if you consider the cumulative power of repeatedly casting this.
And as you notice yourself, if it results only in size, the effect is not actually problematic.

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
Factions: Sleeping
Remnants: Valheim
Legendary Journey: Heroes & Planeswalkers
Saga: Shards of Rabiah
Legends: The Elder Dragons

this might be a win for team anti UB because besides the grixis one they all stink

Those decks are completely in ‘Surge foil’.
Nobody (yet) knows what ‘Surge Foil’ is though.

It's only foil if you cast a spell earlier in the turn.
