The cards should absolutely be preserved like all artwork, especially those pieces with historical significance. I'm certainly not suggesting they should be framed and hung in museums, but they should at the very least be used as teaching tools for the new generation of Magic employees and artists during training sessions who may not otherwise consider cultural sensitivity, and how their work affects others when expressing themselves. People, and their opinions can and do change. That being said, destroying art solely because the artist has or had inappropriate, unpopular, or offensive opinions is as bad as burning books because you disagree with the content or find it too controversial. The only time banning, recalling, or destroying art should be done is if the art itself is criminal in nature, not because the artist who produced it spreads disinformation by other means.
I don't want to veer too off-topic or turn this into a passionate debate because this topic is polarizing, and was already discussed at length in another thread created at the time some cards were banned, and certain artists (who perhaps should've kept their opinions to themselves if only for the sake of their careers) became the victims of cancel-culture, but I feel compelled to reiterate that I still firmly believe in separating the art from the artist. I happen to be Jewish (by birth, not conversion if that matters), and have no issues whatsoever with seeing early printings of sylvan library, because even if the artist has anti-Semitic and/or other racist opinions, I believe in the right to freedom of thought as the cornerstone of what it means to be a human individual, and so long as such individuals don't act on those abhorrent opinions by promoting hatred, encouraging violence, or committing it themselves, the art, which is separate (much like an object on the stack to the effect which created it) has a right to exist regardless of the source. I also find it strangely arbitrary that a card like crusade was banned simply for depicting (but not necessarily promoting) historical events which are unimaginable by today's standards, when countless other cards with "crusader" in their names are seemingly fine.
Similarly, Harvey Weinstein may be a despicable and abusive person, but that shouldn't disrupt any film viewer's ability to enjoy Pulp Fiction nor should it be overlooked, or banned from streaming services, and just because someone chooses to watch and enjoys the film, that doesn't mean they're inherently praising or showcasing the man who produced or directed it. Furthermore, just because it's on Netflix, that doesn't imply the company supports what that man did behind the scenes. The same goes for people like Kevin Spacey, Roman Polanski, or R Kelly, individuals who all committed criminal acts. Remember when statues of various historical figures got destroyed, Roseanne became more boorish than usual, or Michael Richards ranted inappropriately on stage? What about when Mike Ward got in trouble for telling a very distasteful joke at the expense of a disabled child? Should he be forbidden from performing ever again? Ultimately, he was cleared by the courts which I believe was the correct decision because people don't have the right not to be offended, and it should be up to the audience, or the consumers to decide if something or someone is worth seeing or listening to, especially if they're paying, or willing to pay for such "entertainment" which is purely subjective. The late Gilbert Gottfried even went so far as to say that it was a comedian's job and duty to offend. If we feel differently, we're free to disagree. That's the beauty of having personal thoughts and opinions. They provoke important and meaningful dialog, an opportunity to teach and learn from one another.

Regardless, game pieces with artwork printed on pieces of cardboard are just that, and need to be viewed objectively in a vacuum for what they are. It is wrong to be upset at someone just for playing a first printing of Anger of the Gods even if they have other printings at their disposal. Of course, I understand from a business perspective why Wotc would cut off royalties and further printings from artists who "cross the line" based on the company's, or civilized society's moral standards and a desire to support inclusion, but I often wonder what may eventually be considered too inappropriate for an artist to opinionate about. Should Magic artists also be banned if they openly express they're anti-abortionist or anti-vaxxers? I personally find both groups ignorant and obnoxious, but what would that accomplish beyond denying the world art? The key to helping the misinformed and solving problems like racism lies in education, communication, and mutual understanding. Simply cutting off those who we disagree with will only further divide, strengthen their resolve, lead to more "othering", and give the ignorant less of a reason to learn or accept the facts and perspectives of those who feel differently than they do because they don't, or won't feel like they're even being listened to and given a fair chance to explain themselves.

Just for clarification.
I appreciate the subtle distinction between committing a crime (doing something which is against the law) and being convicted of one (getting caught and being judged in a court) as far as his official criminal record is concerned. In that respect, he may be "innocent". However, it's splitting hairs to suggest that he didn't commit a form of sexual assault simply because his victims chose not to press charges for harassment (or more) when they easily could have. He basically just got lucky despite his admission of guilt. His actions weren't simply "inappropriate flirtatious behavior". People don't have the legal right to sexually harass one another. Unwanted touching or spitting at someone is assault, and what he did was arguably worse. More importantly is intent, and these women were made to feel targeted and afraid, not simply uncomfortable. It also wasn't a single isolated incident resulting from a misunderstanding but a pattern of deviant behavior. The problem is that convictions for such offenses are nearly impossible without a written victim impact statement. This is why unfortunately, sexual assault often goes unchecked in many places like Hollywood, professional sports, and the military because many victims don't want to go through the emotional toll which comes with trials, and sadly, this often allows perpetrators to continue finding new victims who they presume will likely be too afraid to report them, until one or more eventually do. The only silver lining is that there's no statute of limitation for such crimes, so at least some offenders eventually get the punishment they deserve once victims build up the courage to testify against them.
Just because nobody is around to witness a tree falling in the woods (or the witness is deaf), that doesn't mean it didn't make a sound...
The question becomes, what are they going to do with all those mint condition Libraries, Voids, and Gwyns... Toss 'em in a fire? How far does their moral resolve go with regard to releasing them into the wild?
I am curious as well. My guess is that they will be given to employees as back door/clandestine perks to keep or sell as they see fit. They should destroy them if they truly believe what they preach.
And then there is another follow up question. What else did they find at this hidden warehouse? So it was just holding Old Legends boxes? That's it? Its crap like this that drives me nuts with Hasbro/WotC being as couched and secretive as can be. It doesn't build trust at all.
Also I am trying to figure out why Barbary ApesPyrotechnics and Craw Giant aren't included. They were pulled and not included and they aren't by McNeil either.

I’m more curious about the reasons they didn’t include some of the cards they did open but put on the ‘not-included’ list. We know about the ones that got cancel-cultured, but some of the other ones… ? Might have to do with the rights to the art or other artist-related reasons.
I was looking through the list, and some have problematic flavor text even if the card/art itself is fine. Others are just from the same artist who has done other problematic arts so I think they just pulled everything of his.
Also I am trying to figure out why Barbary ApesPyrotechnics and Craw Giant aren't included. They were pulled and not included and they aren't by McNeil either.
My best guess is the flavor texts have something to do with it.
Barbary apes are cannibals, and Wotc may feel that cannibalism shouldn't be promoted or encouraged in any form.
Craw Giants use a demeaning pejorative when describing those smaller than them. In sports, the term was replaced.
As for the original printing of pyrotechnics, Wotc may feel that it inappropriately misrepresents the Navajo people, which is why the flavor text was changed for more recent printings.

Unless it was a very recent change, cannibalism is still an acceptable thing to reference on Magic cards. See Ragged Recluse and the M21 flavortext for Village Rites for examples. What's probably not acceptable is associating it with North Africa.
So Mistcutter Hydra was a cent rare... Why is this mythic ? Cause of flying ?

Anyone want to play the Guess Karn's mana cost game?
I suppose it does matter if they are going to reintroduce the Tron lands or not. But I will lead it off. My guess. 5

As long as he's good in Tron then he can cost whatever hehe.
Do you think they're going to reprint the tron lands for standard? I seriously doubt it since wizards has printed so much tron hate over the years instead of straight up banning them. Would still be interesting to see how well they'd do. I just don't like playing watered down versions of tron hehe.
I mean look, the basics here are about a game making money and you don't make money by pissing people off. Like /you/ might be fine with anything, /you/ might not be offended, but I am here to make money and I am leaving it on the table if I go to people with money and say "haha you're stupid and your religion is weird, four bucks for a pack thanks."
Until very recently it didn't really matter because the only people with money were white men, heads of the household and the "breadwinners" so you could totally make mad dosh just by flattering them and them alone. Nonwhites were savages, women were there to be big boobie prizes for men etc etc. The past 20-30 years or so what people call "woke" capital is just companies realizing that wait a second, women can get their own credit cards now. Minorities have money that they /could/ be spending with us. So you know, you at least make an effort at cleaning up your act.
You can say it's cynical and hypocritical and all that and yeah it sure is, lotta the companies trying to clean up their image still have lily-white boardrooms with maybe a token woman up there, but it's not some big ideological crusade. At the end of the day the folks who run wizards are there because they're trying to make money so they can buy a second boat or something, not provide a socialist society with a fun diversion. It just so happens that you can make more money by appealing to more audiences. There are comedians who get this! Some comedians stick really hard to the "offend" thing because that's the brand they have and the audience they want to cultivate, but you know what, gilbert gottfried did not make that much money in life compared to, say, steve carrell.

Obviously, any individual or company can make more money by appealing to a larger, more diverse consumer demographic, but the flaw in your logic is assuming that's everyone's top priority, when it certainly isn't. Money is simply a medium of exchange, not the most important thing to many people, especially artists. Being an artist, musician, or stage performer is about expressing yourself passionately and honestly to the best of your ability. Anyone can see right through a sell-out, so why would you respect someone for giving the consumer or audience only what they think they want to hear and see? If the art is dishonest, it's patronizing. Do you not realize that?
Let me ask you this... If you were an opera singer and some pervert offered you more to sing Miley Cyrus covers while stripping privately for them in their living room, would you do it? What if they paid you even more to do it on camera? Would you still be as proud of your talent and performances? What if you liked painting floral landscapes, and the same pervert asked you to paint him phalluses for twice the commission? Desperation to pay your bills notwithstanding, any artist with a sense of self-dignity would refuse those opportunities and stick to what they enjoy. If money was the top priority for every actor, shouldn't they all be doing porn full-time, or at least occasionally on the side? Of course not, because it isn't. It's as simple as that.
Gottfried definitely did not earn as much as Steve Carrell (and personally I find Carrell to be the funnier of the two), but at least he never felt the need to self-censor to obtain more fans, roles, or money, because he knew that doing so would compromise his artistic vision. There are others like him, comedians like Andrew Dice Clay, and Bobcat Goldthwait who also chose to perform the way they did because it was who they were, not because they were only after the mighty dollar, and that's okay. It's their choice, and we should respect it. Personally, I prefer "offensive" comedians like Lewis Black, Jimmy Carr, and Dave Chappelle. My point is no matter what an artist earns or could potentially earn, what's often most important to the artist is being true to their craft, which is to say their persona, and not compromising their artistic vision, especially for fear that someone (or even most people) may find them too offensive to support financially. Perhaps if you were an artist, or become one someday, you'd understand more easily.
I appreciate the subtle distinction between committing a crime (doing something which is against the law) and being convicted of one (getting caught and being judged in a court) as far as his official criminal record is concerned.
Committing a crime means violating a law in place. It is slander for us to call what he may or may not have done or the extent of it a crime. He did not admit to committing a crime. He admitted to aggressive behavior and basically being a crude man, seeking to have sex and using his status as a platform to coerce a person to sleep with him. He did not administer any drug, or actually force himself upon someone.
Just be clear when you are discussing his situation as he was not and is not convicted of any crime nor is there any civil suit accusing him of any crime and he was never alleged to have committed any crime but had the charges dropped.
I dont agree with his moral choices but your statement was in defense of the actions taken by wizard on someone who had committed a crime.

The accusations that statement was a response to were criminal, even if he was careful not to admit to any specific crime. No one pressed charges, so no legal action was taken, but slander has to be knowingly false and it's not unreasonable to put 2 and 2 together and conclude that he committed a crime.

I think there is a decent chance that they may in the Brother's War, it would make sense if they were there. Hence my comment on potential Karn cost. He may be a 7 again if they are there. If not I am going with my 5 guess.

Flying is a big game, and generally makes this better than mistcutter. It's tough to cost in this modern era of extreme creature p/t power creep, but if it had base 1/1 it would always be the most efficient possible creature at each point in the curve and that was probably too much for wotc. Like they didn't want it to push out all red 2-3 drops, basically. I don't even know if it necessarily would, but it feels like it could. And it's a card they WANT to be cast for a big X, because a 2/2 version of this just doesn't really make sense. They'd rather you cast if for something big to make a big monster and when it's inefficient as a little guy, that's more likely.
The art book coming later this year confirms that Jaya will be compleated, also, I see I wasn't the only one who looked at the obviously-green producing land and thought Karplusan Forest is back, OMG yes please reprint the painlands, I can't wait to dust mine off for Standard play.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Considering the infinite mana combo I use Mistcutter hydra with, yeah this is a very subpar mythic. It doesn't even need the firebreathing, just give it something like protection from black, the chance for the flavor was right there with Sheoldred putting her two cents on it. As it stands the deck I would use this thing in wouldn't want it because it requires mixing in red, complicating the mana pool, and with no real protection from being countered or bounced it's not as resilient was its green counter part.
Not mythic worthy, only reason I see it being rare is the flying or haste

Why'd the professor think there wouldn' be sagas? It was the most successful mechanic from Dominaria (the set).
he thought kamigawa neon dynasty was a road block because we already got them there.
Well this isn't specific on which set it’s in but it’s logical domnaria United because it was introduce there in 2018 and also the “Historic” mechanic.

They've been doing them once a year for a bit now, bound to have them come closer together at some point unless they wanted to exclusively release them in winter.
I could maybe see Brothers' War wanting them, but they could easily do Brothers' War related sagas in Dominaria United too, like they did The Antiquities War.

Also I am trying to figure out why Barbary Apes Pyrotechnics and Craw Giant aren't included. They were pulled and not included and they aren't by McNeil either.
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
I was looking through the list, and some have problematic flavor text even if the card/art itself is fine. Others are just from the same artist who has done other problematic arts so I think they just pulled everything of his.

I think it should have had atleast a 1/1 body. Than it would allways be a nice play on curve, no matter which turn. That would make it worthy of being mythic in my opinion

That is Geyadrone Dihada. Not Jaya.
Nah it's a ***** card and a boring vanilla. Give it at least firebreathing, or even better a different version of firebreathing which also gives a +1/+1 counter.
Their might be sagas in dominaria United

Mark is proud on a upcoming one he made
Why'd the professor think there wouldn' be sagas? It was the most successful mechanic from Dominaria (the set).
he thought kamigawa neon dynasty was a road block because we already got them there.
Well this isn't specific on which set it’s in but it’s logical domnaria United because it was introduce there in 2018 and also the “Historic” mechanic.
They've been doing them once a year for a bit now, bound to have them come closer together at some point unless they wanted to exclusively release them in winter.
I could maybe see Brothers' War wanting them, but they could easily do Brothers' War related sagas in Dominaria United too, like they did The Antiquities War.
