You can use statistics on this one but as stated there is a 3% (roughly) of pulling one and that is the only real statistic that matters. If there are 100 packs then 3 packs contain them. In general if I buy 33 packs of those at random I will more than likely pull one containing a lost legend.
Yes some person may pull two, yes some person may pull none. I understand randomness. But overall, everywhere, everyone when all packs are bought has the same overall odds as anyone else. If you would add up all the packs when these are all sold and add up everyone's "hit" percentage it will work out to be 3%. Some will hit 0 some will hit six some will hit that three but add them all up and divide them out it will work out to that 3%. I get the statistical analysis but it is irrelevant in this case.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
a dragon that's always behind curve, albeit flexible.
Jaya is a walker with 4 meh abilities.
the 2 rare early drops are Figure of Destiny 4.0 and a mana dork for standard...
the boardwipe is very interesting, but not good enough to replace Burn Down the House.
The uncommon throwbacks to the horrible legends for Legends will all be pretty great on limited.
Magic needs to pick a base world and work around that. Dominaria has so many stories that are untold that they could expand on ad nauseam and still maintain an interest from the player base.
The part I find frustrating is that once a setting is deemed unpopular from a card-playing perspective then it's rarely revisited unless a miracle happens (Kamigawa I'm looking at you). I'd love to see expanded lore on Ulgrotha, Mercadia, and a handful of other short-lived settings.
If they rehashed Kamigawa the way they did, I'm sure that we can expect something similar for Ulgrotha and Mercadia. Esp. if they can tie key characters into the existing arc.
But outside of that, I'm stoked about this set and the forthcoming three sets that are Dominaria-focused. Let's hope for cards of oldwalkers and characters mentioned in titles and/or flavour text that never got a card. Tourach needs more company...

All English, all freshly opened with gloves and everything.
The Professor: "WHY DIDN'T YOU DRAFT THEM???"
Seriously, this is a cool idea. I'm planning (one day... if they are still there...) to buy like 10 collector edition displays, so my chances are high I'll get one. ONE. And chances are high that will be a worthless common. And considering I'm missing, I think, less than 20 cards from the set, chances are ultra-low I'll get one I actually need (like Nicol Bolas or *gasp* Chains of Mephistopheles).
I’m most interested in the Jared and Dihada commander decks. I’m curious what Jared will be like as five color planeswalker. I’m also slightly irked that Dihada is going to be mardu it bugs me when we have planeswalkers who can be your commander and can’t have every version of the planeswalker in the 99.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
It's basically a sales gimmick but it worked with the OG Zendikar and it was an extremely popular set, so who's to say that it won't work this time again?

Its so stupid, that you might be better of with a proxy that shows the text.
I usually like textless cards, but I agree 100%
I don't even understand why he's being reprinted when already banned in Standard (doesn't that imply he is/was too strong for the format? What changed?)
Very disappointed to see Gilded Goose return when they should have reprinted birds of paradise instead!
The art book coming later this year confirms that Jaya will be compleated, also, I see I wasn't the only one who looked at the obviously-green producing land and thought Karplusan Forest is back, OMG yes please reprint the painlands, I can't wait to dust mine off for Standard play.

These lands are in so high demand and going to Dominaria for two planes in a row just asks for reprints of all ten cards of this cycle with plane-specific names.

A shame core sets stopped happening, again, so there could be more chances to print plane specific cards.
Is it just me or does the whole planeswalker compleation arc feel a lot more dynamic and exciting than the Bolas War of the Spark arc?
If that happens then to me that means we're getting different a marquee mono-white (Elspeth?) planeswalker then? Chandra is the marquee for red, but Jaya did have a bit of a presence even if an auxiliary character overall.

Don't worry, they will find an easy cure for compleation to save all the planeswalker friends and assure that no one dies.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Those are promo cards, they aren't being reprinted into Standard.
Why yes, of course I believe they "found" cardboard boxes from almost 30 years ago in perfect condition that no one happened to know about until now and from which they "casually" didn't happen to open a single one of themostpolemiccards in the set or moneycardsnot in the reserved list they can freely print without putting a show on, how did you know?
Also that Omnath is fugly, I don't know what but something about it looks wrong.

There are two lists. Cleanse is on the "we opened it, but we're not putting it in boosters" list.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.

ofcoarse not it’s because of that card was in the emergency all format ban due to racist problem when the incident happened.

Clearly these were the type of boxes which did not contain Mana Drain. (I think that was the card everyone fixated on back then.)
I must say I'm also puzzled at some entries in the "we opened them but did not include them" list like Sylvan Libary. Not reserved list, reprinted quite often, absolutely no issues with the card...
Wonder what they'll do with their Cleanses and Invoke Prejudices?
I'm not sure how I feel about such old cards being in new packs.
Mana drain being omitted is almost certainly due to its recent reprinting since nobody wants to see the same "rare" or "mythic rare" appear in back-to-back sets.
Even if they're not reprinting them as they claim, doesn't simply inserting RL cards into new packs still break the "spirit of the Reserved List?"
What's next? Will Mirage boxes randomly appear in the "warehouse" the next time we go back to Dominaria so new players can open near mint LEDs?
This idea sounds cool in theory for nostalgia, but it also sets a dangerous precedent regarding which cards consumers can and shouldn't expect to open in new packs. As others are surely aware, this kind of workaround policy to the RL can become a slippery slope. It almost feels like From The Vault all over again.

They've excluded all Harold McNeil art, presumably because he's literally a nazi.
Edit: There are a couple others, I guess. Barbary Apes is probably excluded for a reference to real world location in Africa in conjunction with a portrayal of human-like apes, Gwendlyn Di Corci to keep it PG, and Craw Giant most likely for its use of the word "midget".

the artist is the answer
the guy is claimed to be a nazi and exibit A is the card “invoke prejudice” it’s blocked today and it’s clearly due to figures in the art look very identical to the KKK
Wizards cut ties with him when he showed his other works and let’s just say they freaked out in fear from them.
so wizards probably forbids to ever do any art by him ever again even by gathering “hidden treasures”
