Huh, this wasn't what I was predicting for a mana-free Replicate cost in the teasers. That kind of "tap an untapped creature you control" cost sounds too close to Conspire to me.
I'm assuming Uchuulon is only a 1/4 when you play him, even though he's a Crab, Ooze, and Horror himself with the wording of the card, but I can't be sure. Any thoughts? On your end step, assuming you have a target to exile from a graveyard and create a second Uchuulon they would both be 2/4 then, right? Not 6/4, surely.
I believe you are correct. Much like how those Warrior/Wizard/Cleric/Rogue creatures only count for one member of your party. I believe the wording makes Uchuulon only a 1/4.

As a useful reference, All That Glitters uses similar language and has been officially ruled to only count enchantment artifacts once.
Edit: Shambling Suit is an exact match to the language here, same ruling.
When I saw the spoilers for this deck, my disappointment was level 974 on a scale of 1-10. I love horrors. I love mind flayers. But more than that, I love pirates. If you are going to name a deck Mind Flayarrrrrs - at least include a pirate subtheme!!!!! Don't set me up like this. Why not have a couple of pirate cards - to me it is like feline ferocity deck having no cats, the zombie deck having no zombies! It would have been an AMAZING place to drop squidnapper(mystery pack convention card) and prove the viability of the playtest cards as actual cards. The secondary commander could have been a pirate that instead of making 1/1s made treasures when an artifact was milled. I was expecting an insanely fun and silly deck - and was left with a deck that is all salt and no swashbuckling. Milling is IMHO a meh mechanic - and one that rarely leads to a memorable game. It is responsible in part for the insane prices of the OG eldrazi - and a theme that is revisited over and over. We literally just had milling rogues, what 2 years ago? Furthermore - this is the best place since Ixalan - potentially better - for pirates to make an appearance. Sword Coast, Skullport, Waterdeep, the Moon Shae isles - the forgotten realms has such a history of nautical adventure - and, honestly, I think we only encountered maybe 2 dragons in all our adventures in Forgotten Realms.
My play group all buy the decks and we have a league where we make modifications to the decks week to week and duke it out. When the names for the decks were spoiled, I told my group that anyone that wanted to play that deck would have to fight me to the death with a rusty spoon - and now I am less than indifferent about it.
That's too much disappointment considering you can easily buy this deck and then change it to include whatever sub-pirate theme you might want. You could say it was a 3 on the disappointment scale, given that, but anything over is pure hyperbole. The reason they didn't do pirates seems like they really wanted to lean on tribal Horrors, and if you add a second tribe you completely dilute the first tribe, I don't even know if it's tribal at that point. It's just a deck with a bunch of horrors and pirates living together.
