Have to sort through the set first. I like the expanded content from AFR; shame it wasn't in a standard environment but hey, no more "block" structures kinda did that in right?

I have very little interest in the D&D crossovers but I was hoping for more colorless or 5 color general options in a commander legends set. I believe that's 2 in a row without an artifact general
Luckily I'm interested the adventure commander so at least I will be picking up those commons // uncommons and have fun with those as a little janky deck.
there's some okay cards here, most of it locked to higher rarities as per usual. whole lots of chaff at lower rarities.
do like how many 3 drop rocks there, that do more than just tap for mana, because they'll help slow commander games down some. of course... thats all offset by the obnoxious over abundance of treasures.
i do really like miirym so thats a win in my book.
on the whole, i'm skipping this one almost completely. price point is too high now and there are a few cards i want to pick up as singles only. way less than other recent sets.

After the abortion that was Golos, get ready to wait a long time for a powerful 5c commander. That card destroyed commander while legal. Also, Commander advisory board specifically asked wizards to tone down 5c commanders in the future simply because of Golos. May his name be cursed forever!

The structure of Commander Legends sets as a draftable commander experience means that there are some things they cannot print.
1) they cannot print (or reprint) a mono-color commander without partner, choose a background, or a similar ability. Players drafting these packs expect to be able to build around any legend they open and the system breaks down if someone only gets one color. “Just throwing in one that they can’t” sounds possible in theory but would be really hard to convey to players in practice and would lead to negative feels when folks don’t get the memo.
2) For the same reason, they cannot print colorless commanders (without color setting abilities a la prismatic piper) even if it DOES have partner or similar text. Wizards has declared that you need at least two colors per deck for this format to work and so they will not make commanders for the set that do not allow this.
3) On the other side of things, 4 and 5 color commanders cannot be printed for these sets as they would be too powerful (as they would allow someone to just build a goodstuff deck, which a lot of people say is the problem with the original 2-color commanders). We might see super rare reprints (like the foil etch reprints of Ramos, Najeela, and the 2-color partners) but that’s about it.
4) on a related note, don’t ever expect to see multicolor cards in these sets that are not commanders. They take multicolor slots from legends and make it more easy for players to take a card that they end up unable to draft. As much as I love Eerie Ultimatum for commander, it would not make sense to put it in a set where there is literally one commander (also a rare) who is capable of using it.

kind of the make it very short of how it will be
The wrong way 12345
(4 is because of that first ability)
the correct way 12345
(3 is due to not being obnoxious)
(5 is due to a huge drawback)

Actually I find alot of the Uncommons and Commons to be stronger then expected.
Patraich's Seal and some of the other mana rocks are better then Puzzle in most none dice decks.
Extrodinaire Swashbuckler in super amazing, it gives you a treasure token on etb field and it allow you to spend a treasure tokens to give creatures double strike.
Some of the common and uncommon backrounds like Tavern Brawler, Agent of the Iron Throne, Acolyte of Bahumut, and Candlekeep Sage are very good too.
Then you get reprints like Deadly Dispute, Nature Lore, etc...
Some good auras too for Mazzy, like Stone skin that can FU an attempted use of Meat Hook massacre.

All your wrong 5 should straight up be banned in every format.

First off, the last three Backgrounds of the set.
And its last uncommons.
Also missing were these three artifacts with rulebook showcase frame treatments.
The rest of the common reprints are a lot, mostly from AFR, but only one actually matters price-wise.
