Seems like a good value, supports a good cause, and the Bearscape is hilarious
Love this. I have to get it, for the Bearscape alone! That is hilarious!
Also this drop and the discussion around it will be helpful for weeding out people that I wouldn't want in my life (or playing a card game with me) anyway
"Did you think to kill me? There's no flesh and blood within this cloak to kill. There is only an idea. Ideas are bulletproof." - V, V for Vendetta. Alan Moore
Kinda want to get these just for the sleeves on arena. Still kinda nuts to me how many people get triggered by the pride badge on apex legends. I would like to make more people online uncomfortable.
As a gay guy I actually find this profoundly moving. I don't care if anybody will say this is just a marketing move to appeal the LGTB audience (especially because typically who say this are the first ones to not be lgbt supporting at all). This doesn't hurt anyone and the Trevor Project is exactly what the community actually and really need to get real help and support.
I'm honored to be part of a game that loves me as much as I love it.
I'm thrilled that WotC would not only make a Pride product, but also have half the proceeds go to the Trevor Project! The art for the chosen cards is fantastic, especially Ral and Tomik's wedding and the Bearscape! I'm also glad Alesha got in too! Representation matters, and I'm glad that WotC did not try to be subtle with this. The *only* thing that I'd like to have in this is Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis getting new art. Hopefully they are a hidden extra card because they got snubbed when Breya, Atraxa, and Yidris got SL cards, and now we have a full blown Pride SL and no K&T to be seen. Fingers crossed my kings get some new treatment soon.
Is Saheeli & Huatli a thing? I haven't paid attention to the story since just before War of the Spark, I don't remember that being hinted at.
Bearscape is pretty funny, but I think it's a tad far for what could potentially be a card you play in public. It's probably just me (and to make it clear I'm not saying what's there is wrong in any way.)
As a "hypothetical bear" (I have the shape but am straight) the Bearscape amuses me to no end. Had to send it to my otter friend immediately, though he does not play Magic. Maybe I'll buy him one on the secondary market for his next birthday.
But, man, this will trigger sooooo many people. Which is sad, really.
And, yeah, I very much hope Kynaios and Tiro will be the bonus card. Not having them in here would be the height of shame!

It's been extremely vaguely hinted at since Huatli's introduction, in the epilogue story of Rivals of Ixalan. Then there's the fact that they walked into the War of the Spark story together. The story that came out today is the official "They are now girlfriends" moment.

They did a little storylet where the two of them met back in 2018, I dunno if it was planned already from then (I would guess so, tbh) and then got kinda sidelined by how bad war of the spark was or what.
I do wonder exactly how messed up creative ended up over WAR. No novels for a few years, nothing but the smallest story blurbs. At least it seems to be chugging again.
I love this as it will make conservatives go bat***** crazy.
As a transgender I adore this. Alesha is a transgender person so this resonates. The description of Triumphant Reckoning hits home a lot; there is a lot of hostility against the trans community from conservatives and TERFs alike with one of the highest suicide rates in the world. We've come far but there's still a lot more to achieve and fight for.
Saheeli and Huatli made my heart go boom. Ral and Tomik <3. The Mana Confluence for the pride colours is stonks.
Shame we didn't see Chandra and Nissa together. But oh yeah that's right retconned. Who or what is that other thing with her in that artwork?
I thought it was supposed to be yaheeni or another Aetherborn. I think I’m getting this just for savor the moment. It’s such a gorgeous card.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone

Heck, as an ally, I find this profoundly moving. I respect that I can't really imagine how significant it must be for you, but I love that the game that we have all gained so much joy in is willing to support the community.
It's going to be amusing to see how many people get triggered and complain that they are just trying to get people's money. It's literally part of their job as a company to get people's money, and inclusion is at least meaningful way of doing so.

Ooh that's a good point, I even had a Kynaios and Tiro commander deck that I loved, then took apart and now want to rebuild. I was hoping the secret card was a hot "bear token" to match the new bearscape but this would be even better.
all resonate with me due to their fierce femininity.

Fellow gay here! Something about that Jhoira art really stuck with me, too. Aside from being an awesome card, I think that's part of why I wanted to build around her.

Also, is this the first time Ral and Tomik have actually appeared on a card together?

i love what it supports. i love the theme. i love the acceptance it promotes. most of all i absolutely love bearscape.
i'd buy way more secret lairs if they did more along these lines.
also i want a bearscape playmat

Might be one SL I buy more than one of.

This all incredibly adorable and super wholesome. It turns out a lot of us queer folk play magic.
This appeals to me more than most of them, as usual, I don't have money lying around for it. Shame: I really need a mana confluence.
